 MGS4 - Don't get me wrong, it will sell, but I don't think it's going to be the uber seller that people give it credit for.  Don't bother arguing with me on this one because I will promptly ignore you-- we'll just have to wait to see who is right.

FFXIII - I thought we were talking 2008-- you're not going to see this game until 2009.

Killzone 2 - I have seen nothing of this game that makes me believe it's going to be any better than Killzone.

LBP - It's interesting but it's not going to sell well at all.

Infamous - I will admit, I know nothing about this game.

GT5 - Of course this will be a big seller

Motorstorm 2 - Has this even been announced yet?  Even so, if wouldn't be released in 2008, earliest would be 2009.

Resistance 2 - Same deal as above, expect to see it in 2009

Haze - Probably be big but nothing stellar but I could be thinking that just because I'm not uber excited for the game.   Why not, we can put this one on the PS3's big seller list.

Burnout Paradise - It might do well in Europe maybe?

White Knight Story - 2009

GTAIV - It will be big, but it will be bigger for the 360

So, is that the best you got? 

 You seem to imply Nintendo is suffocating the market to create demand. But you also ignore just how large supply is, it's huge, last week they sold 1.5 million units worldwide those are insane numbers, and I'm sure Nintendo pushed every last system out they possibly could. In fact they even have that rain check program. They also have analysts claiming they are losing an absurd amount of money because of their failure to produce enough systems. So if everyone seems to agree purposely starving the consumer is a stupid move why on earth would Nintendo be doing it?  For the last time it's simple, there is no magic portal were Wiis are born, they are manufactured and new facilities aren't going to spring up over night. And it's hard to fault Nintendo no one in their right mind was projecting the kind of demand this system is getting, so it would have been foolish for them to have over invested into manufacturing a gazillion Wiis prior to launch.

Plus how can anyone suggest the Wii will see decline this year, it's the year of Smash Bros./ Mario Kart/ Wii Fit and quite possibly Animal Crossing. I can see 2009 being more of a declining year for the Wii, but that of course is easy to say without knowing what is in store for that year, and I'm suspecting some big things.

Aside from that Ps3 has a great year in head of it and I think it's lead on the 360 in Europe and japan will grow. The 360 also has great things coming and hints to more great things, but mostly stuff that will help American sales, some titles have international appeal like Fable 2, Alan Wake, possibly Banjo-Kazooie. But in my opinion 360 needs to start some hype with something unusual. They've been watching  the Wii for a while and they like to mimck success so I'm curious about announcements at CES and GDC carefully.

The 360 and PS3 are not going to impact the sales of the Wii much. Conversely, the Wii is not likely to impact the 360 and PS3. Nintendo created a market for themselves and is off in new territory. There styles of games that cannot transition well between the Wii and the 360/PS3 consoles.

In short, the Wii will not decline, but it doesn't mean that Sony and Microsoft will go out of their way to compete with the Wii directly in it's new Kingdom.

The Wii should have been left out of this discussion from the beginning. Not because it is going to start diving or anything like that, but because it isn't in as direct competition as the 360 and PS3 are.

Somehow, every thread gets the Wii lumped in there, even when the title says the PS3 and 360.

I see we have our thread of the day focusing on the general demise of the PlayStation 3, and the same people posting the same exact thing they have posted yesterday of why it is or isn't failing. *Sighs* just another day at VGChartz.

But seriously, can we stop discussing the same thing over and over ad nauseum?

Well the topic starter said some riduculous things about the Wii so of course there's discussion about it.

Exactly.  Just because the topic does not mention the Wii does not mean it should be completely absent from the pages of the thread.  If the topic poster did not want Wii talked about, he should not have even mentioned it. 

However that is not possible because the premise of the discussion was based on the assumption that the Wii would fail this year, so you have to accept that as true in order to debate the poster's question.

FOR MOST GAMERS - PS3.

PS3 will have MOST proven and anticipated titles in 2008.
