Forums - Gaming - PS3 Owners: Why haven't you bought Mass Effect 2?

@Michael-5

I know Bioware isnt known for their GOTYs like Bethesda but the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition includes really everything and if I wait long enough I hope there will be a Mass Effect Ultimate Edition Trilogy on 360 that includes everything related to Mass Effect. In 2 years maybe ?

Mass Effect is great but no Mass Effect 1 on PS3 means no buy from me.One day I will buy a 360 when it is 99 Dollar/Euro and play the ultimate trilogy edition With all DLCs and Mass Effect 1-3. Iam patient and can wait.

In other words you'll never buy Mass Effect.

No ultimate trilogy with all DLC will ever be released on 360. It will possibly be released on X720, if it uses a disc medium other than DVD. Otherwise they'll just make everything available for download and you can pretend like it's the ultimate trilogy.

Because the demo was enough, couldn't find what so special about it to be honest, good gameplay , good graphics, average animations and terrible facial animations , typical space solder story with an interesting way to tell it by letting you choose.
I didn't find the concept interesting at all, I liked Dragon age: origins much more even based only on the demo.

because I bought it for PC...

Uncharted is just as much of a shooter as Mass Effect 2. There is platforming in it... but compared to tomb raider it's miniscule. Just like there's RPG elements in ME2... but a lot of those elements are miniscule compared to other RPG's.

I like both of the games... but both are very much shooters imo.

Because of two reasons:

1) The lack of Mass Effect 1 for the PS3 is a major turn off for me to get the ME2 PS3 version. The comic that comes with ME2 doesn't do justice to the awesomeness that is ME1

2) Since having to sell my 360 in May, I managed to buy ME1 + DLCs and ME2 + DLCs for PC very, very cheaply, so there's no reason to get it for my PS3 now.

As a PS3 owner : I already had ME1+2 on PC and it's not possible to transfer saved game cross platform.
An my full renegade readhead ruthless bitch is eager to kick some Repaers as in ME3.

Contrarily to most people here, I really liked ME1, while ME2 was imho a step back, but I had much better time with The Witcher 1.

It has enough sales considering it was an one year old port with little to no marketing and without being able to play the first one on the system.
Sorry, but what do you expect?

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

The third person gameplay of Mass effect 2 is amazing but as far as rpg elements go they are non-existant. Just like Michael-5 said its similar to Dead Space.

IGN liked it more than Uncharted 2 that's ok. But that doesn't make it a universal truth.
IGN also thought the PS3 version had sharper textures or something that was proven wrong; don't believe them when it comes to Mass effect. They seem to always worship Bioware for some reason. Which is ok since they are a good bunch of developers.

And I have it on the 360 so I will not really get it again on the PS3. Without Mass effect 1 its hard to get excited for the sequel for other people.

Also, I agree with the general sentiment that ME2 is just a glorified TPS with very few RPG elements.
ME1 was an amazing RPG itself, especially in the inventory management field and how to set up the skills of your character which were reminiscent of KOTOR itself. ME2 not so much, even though I loved the story in it.
