We’ve already had the Xbox 360 Premium and Elite. Both are, of course, fine gaming machines with the best games catalogue in the next-gen field. But come autumn 2008, we reckon both will be rendered obsolete by the Ultimate.

This PS3-killer will benefit from almost three years of Xbox development, featuring 1080p HDMI output, built-in Wi-Fi, hi-def audio output, cooler 65nm hardware architecture and a near-silent fan.

It’ll also have the ability to make the most of the by-then established Xbox IPTV service, which will mean recording TV shows to its vast 320GB hard disk and watching live TV shows via your broadband provider.

But the piece de resistance? It’ll have a built-in HD DVD drive. Let Round 12 with the PS3 commence...

I guess MS sees it needs to step up its game.

So far the only userbase who hasn't been repeatedly punished for being early adopters are the Wii userbase.

Microsoft havnt you lost enough money in the past 7 years?

1/ I really believe it is possible.
2/ It will definitively save the HD DVD and maybe allow him to win the war
3/ what about the price ?

Wow that hard disk is vaster than Canada and the US combined.

 Hmm...1080p HDMI, WiFi, hd audio, 65n, near-silent fan... all of these are on the PS3 since it's launch.

Anyway, it's nice to know that the PS3 killer is still to be announcenced since I thought the current 360 was going to kill the PS3 when Halo 3 come out, rofl

HD DVD drive? Lol... Why? They've spent 3-4 years telling consumers they don't need it.

I have doubts about this being true.

It wouldn't make much sense for them to integrate an HD-DVD player. I would rather have it all without the HD-DVD player to cut down on costs.

But, I would definitely get it for the other features, especially integrated WiFi and 65nm tech.

the elite costs more than the ps3 40gb so this will be alot more expensive than the ps3
by the end of 08 HD-DVD will be clutching its heart and gasping for breath... this is just a fancy coffin

Since MS really wants DL content to take off, they're prob never put in an HD-DVD player internally. Way too expensive and unnecessary. A huge HDD is way more likely and useful.
