im sad for these who doesnt believe god
I guess my faith would technically be placed under non-denominational, since it follows the same belief structure. Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox (Protestant less-so) frustrate me with their traditions and practices that have no founding on God's word and are simply there because that is how it has always been done. I was raised in a household that encouraged you to challenge your beliefs and have an open mind, and as such, that fostered a strong core belief that the only way to be saved is through the acceptance and understanding that Jesus is the son of God and only through him, not through works, do I achieve salvation.
My father was protestant and my mother was catholic growing up, but as they grew older they challenged their beliefs. Becoming stagnant and simply believing something for the sake of simply doing what your family has done for generations is a dangerous road. Questions are good, and the bible has answers. It is when man tries to fill the gaps with their own ideas and ideals that problems arise, which is why when I have questions worth raising I turn to the bible and see if it has a reasonable response. Never has science, or man, provided me with a question or answer that has successfully superseded my faith in the bible.
(On a side note...) Remember guys, it takes at least as much faith to believe in science or any other belief that you may have, so calling someone insane for being religious is not a very intellectual response. In fact, I am sure it would make others, with similar beliefs, upset with you as well.

Well that's pretty self-righteous of you which unfortunately describes some "Christians" I know. Pretty insane, isn't it? ;)
You left out "orthodox", which accounts for the majority of the non-English/Spanish-speaking Christian world. Yes, more than Catholicism.
I'm Christian, raised Protestant, but I don't quite fit into Protestantism and non-denominational doesn't fit either, especially since it's really just a modern Protestant denomination itself.

Historically we and the catholics were part of a unified Roman church until the great schism in 1054 which split the church in two. I don't believe in preaching to people though I will discuss my beliefs if anyone inquires. One very important thing I believe is that judgement day will only happen when God deems it appropriate and that we as people can not influence this in any way which it appears may be the belief of many fundamentalist Christians these days. That's just a quick and basic summary of my beliefs. |
I got curious about your link and clicked it. While reading it, I was like "Why does this article seems biased towards the Orthodox Church and makes the Catholic Church look like the stupids.." then I scrolled up and saw this
"Copyright, 1994 St. Nectarios American Orthodox Church
Reproduced with permission from The Orthodox Christian Witness, Vol. XXVII (48), Vol. XXVIII (6) and (8), 1994.

ahhh...soooo...This document is from the Orthdox Church. It would be nice, when sighting such Information, it would be better to sight something from an unbiased source. Just saying.
Anyways, I have a question, "Why are you an Orthodox Christian"? Is it by choice or were you born into it?
I'd also like to address the same question to all the Christians here.."Why are you Christians?" Was it a choice you made yourselves? Where you born into it? Where you persuaded or coerced into it? Actually, this applies to all religions.. "Why are you a follower -insert religion here-"? Like i said, were you born into this religion?
