Update Writer Boy

Also, when should we expect your next "Mind the Gap" blog? Holidays are starting, so it would be good to have one just beforehand to see the difference after the season.

Always around 1st week of month, after the final week of the last months data is in, so waiting for October 1st numbers. Gap charts will be next weekend.

I just noticed the 360 is down YoY more than the Wii is.

That surprised me.

Are you saying your own OP is worthless?

No! lol, sorry I thought you meant for the year. But yeah, 360 did have Reach in these numbers, and wii was fairly low anyway this time last year. Only so much you can lose year over year when you're that low

Yeah, looking again I didn't realise the Wii was only doing ~130k this time last Year.

Unfortunately, all 3 are gonna end up being down YoY by quite a lot by the end of October.

It looks like Sony's and especially Microsoft's forecasts were based on "Wii going down means our console will go up".

I think Sony will have expected more from the pricecut really. I think Microsoft expected PS3 sales to drop substantially and the Wii audience to shift to Kinect. The problem with Kinect though, is the distinct lack of new, unique and innovative games releasing for it, without a pricecut it's not going to do anywhere near as well as last Year.

Updated!

I won't be changing small weekly changes as it has a big knock on effect, I will go back every now and then and update everything.

That's cool. I just want to see the chart updated at least after any big week sales. So Uncharted, CoD, Forza, Black Friday, etc weeks.

What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database

I don't know if MS needs to do a price cut. I thought they were going to do one, but they might not need to. I thought Sony would have a longer bounce with it's cut.

Kinect this year, is certainly more bang for your buck than Kinect last year, with the added features of voice on Netflix, Hulu+, etc. Plus with the update, and Bing search, it really might be extraordinary. If it works as well as the voice search on my Windows Phone it could be revolutionary. (I realize it's not a gamer thing, but many people might want it after they see how cool and convenient it is at a friends house. They buy and Xbox, later games too. More gamers=more game makers = more good games, everybody Wins!)

I hope it they don't do a price cut, it's because they are going to subsidize some killer hardware on the Next Xbox (DX12 please!)

I think Wii will still do Ok, and PS3 not too far behind Wii.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Well done Seece.

i still don't see MS making a price cut. its becoming more apparent there going to stick to there guns, unless it happens for black friday. thats my guess.
