Come on guys, do you really believe you can top freaking IDC by giving a minute of thought or so before posting in a forum? If they said it they have a reason to do so. The market is unpredictable at times, but that's no reason to disregard everything analysts say.

It's not like they are throwing a "researchers from the university of randomia discovered that (anything on drugs/foods/climate) is responsible for a 25% increase in the chance of (something either bad or irrelevant)" at us.

I do love the general attitude that these companys don't know what there talking about if they weren't good at there job they wouldn't be doing it!

OT: I agree with the statement that the ps3 will have the largest Active userbase come 2015 and the 257m active consoles they both seem feesable and the attitude that somehow despite selling about the equiverlant of the 360 in the same time period has failed in the sense of sale both Microsoft and Sony have had a great success granted not on the level of the Wii but for each to sell 50m+ units is a success non the less and there still selling

yea my estimates may be high but i currently got PS3 at 105 in 2014.

i agree with you there.

your right it all depends on th market. nothing ever stays the same. we've all estimated trends in this industry, but did anyone think we'd be where we are right now?

yea maybe by blind guessing or fanboy rederick but not truling nowing changes in the market. an rederick/analysis is all anyone can give yrs or even months befoe something happens so don't dismiss it until you have the facts to suport it in your hands to show everyone!

Sounds about right to me. PS3 is nowhere near dead since it just dropped price and has plenty of room for more drops. I wonder if PS3 will drop to $200 around the same time the Wii U comes out. 

These kind of predictions take me back to the beginning of the 7th gen

cool add 8-15m for 2015, PS3 is a solid second near first for me unless wii is discontinued in 1 -3 yrs then PS3 is first by the end of the gen meeting my expectations.

Yeah definitely man. I agree with you there. I don't think the PS3 will quite catch up to the Wii but by like 2015 the gap should be only 5-10 million maximum (its about 35 million now)

PS3 can definitely last until 2015 or longer since Sony are optimistic about the PS2 continuing that long.
