oliist was and ever will be the true god on vgchartz.com
Honestly I don't think their is such a thing as a VGChartz God. The closest thing I can think of is VGChartz Celebrity! I think their are about 20 or so users that have reached a point where everyone on VGChartz knows who they are. Currently I think I have failed to attain that status but strive to be the best user possible. To attain a status such as celebrity you need to.
#1. Post in all major boards, meaning Sony , Nintendo , Microsoft , PC , Off-Topic , Gaming. If your not actively posting on all the boards then you will fail to recieve a celebrity status.
#2. Be a real gamer, that means not only do you post in all those boards but your game backs your mouth. You play content from all three manufacturers and you have actual advise and input to put in on all the boards.
#3. Be different. One thing this site does not lack is fans. So rather then being Fan #100 to scream OMG Pokemon OMG Nintendo is king. differentiate yourself. Maybe say "Pokemon could have been improved by" or maybe "This feature really made the game good" just don't get lost in the fanboyish praze your post needs to stick out.
#4. Make friends, I am great friends with Galaki, Smeags and Viper1 (At least I think I am) and these friends watch what I write. As do other friends but I have to many to list them all. These friends are invaluable as a member as they not only make your experiance on the site more enjoyable they will back you in your threads and others threads.
#5. Create new threads , your never going to make a name for yourself without stepping out and creating threads. This is a gamble because a slip up could really damage your reputation. I have made big information errors in the past. However if you never go out on a limb and create a new topic, nobody will ever give you the attention you need.
#6. Make adversaries. No I'm not talking enemies I'm talking people who disagree with your particular belief system. Look for example at myself and Sapphi. Were friends but we are also adversaries. We clash in every thread we talk in. He actually seeks my threads out and I do his and we chat. These clashes build a reputation bad or good.
#7. Break news, this is a game forum. Gamers and viewers want to see new news. So if you get word of something before others do and post it , it'll go along way to boosting your net cred. But beware post false information and you may loose that cred pretty fast.
#8. Get on staff, a major reason why many view Smeags as such a great user and other staff members as such is they talk the walk and walk the talk. They have bonified net cred. All users like to get the opinions of the writers and staff as if they are somehow smarter and more important then most other users.
#9. Get the points, a user with very little points gets noticed immediatly and written off. This means a higher post count as well as points from regestering games and such. Contribute to the site and other users will notice. Other users will probably look at your games regestered and deduct whether they want to view your articles or relate to your threads.
#10. Be an active member at all times. Try not to dissapear to long and if you do be sure to become active again as soon as possible. Users want consistency out of their VGChartz celebs.
Those or my top ten tips for becoming a VGChartz Celeb. But as I said even I don't think I'm among the top 20 most famous VGChartz users. I don't follow all my own advice. But here's hoping one day I am no longer a Padawan but become a Jedi Master!

I'm far from a god here but my advice would be:
Have boobs and asses in your sig.
I think having a recognizable avatar and nick is important.
...and other things other people have already pointed out.
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
