I trust no one, not even myself.
A price cut really wouldn't be a surprise looking at how far we are in the gen. The Wii U is coming out next year and we are starting to here more and more about next gen. Also the PS2 fell to 200$ 2 years after it's release and the PS3 is still 300$ 5 years after it's release so I wouldn't expect anything else from this year's Gamescom.
It means Amazon are being dicks and giving you less money for the trade in.
A price cut is inevitable, the real question is if it will be $250 or $200, and how big the price cut will be in Europe and Japan too.
With all the great games coming out in 2012, if SONY cut the price by a vast amount, they could sell PS3's like hot cakes.
Maybe the PS3 can finally get the sales it deserves.

well i've talked about it with lots of people including snakenobi and its very likely, bu i don't think this is a sign of things to come so just wait for an official annoucement.
They expect to ship 15m this fiscal year so a $50 pricecut is coming probably.
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
Trade-in prices dropping don't always mean a price cut is coming. I worked at a book warehouse for over a year, and the biggest reason for a trade-in price to dramatically drop was the company received as many copies of said book as they wanted to receive. If 6 months later, they wanted more of that book again, the trade-in price would increase again.
Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Yes I can't wait too see that given how it was last year when the price was steady!
trade in values on amazon are a bit wacky. A few months ago, I remember seeing halo reach selling for less than their trade in value was for it and it wasn't a third party seller it was amazon selling halo reach for less than its trade in value. Though who knows maybe prices are getting lowered.
