Forums - Gaming - So, I just don't feel like gaming anymore. Magic is gone.

Woah... What game did you play on the wii in June? Obviously it wasn't anything new because let's be honest, the wii's software has been pretty bleak this year. I think your problem is that you are only gaming on the wii and ds and the software for those two systems is terrible this year. I had a similar feeling in late 2008 and early 2009 which pushed me to get a PS3. That was one of the best/worst decisions of my life. It was great because now I always have online games I can play that will offer substantially different gaming experiences every time I play them, but the fast pace of fps games has caused me to lose complete interest in almost any other genre. I can't even enjoy Paper Mario or Fire Emblem anymore. My attention span has been drastically reduced...

Yup, if you have trouble to keep attention, then shorter games may be a good solution.

There are long games on those systems too (In case you didn't know)

What you need to do is to masturbate until you reach the brink of blindness to bring back what you lost.

It seems like your suffering from burnout. It mainly applies to people who have a very tedious careers. But It applies to other things like gaming other interests etc. I myself have been recovering from this. It all started in august last year. For months til the end of 2010, I havent been playing my wii at all. But my gaming hasn't dminished completey thx to the 3DS. But everything changed when my mom passed away from her cancer; then I stopped gaming completely for a short while. Now that I feel better Im back to my gaming.

So people that play only on those consoles has ADD?

Yeah since I stopped playing CoD4 and Fallout 3 my magic has been gone too. With the exception of GTAIV (I just got the Gay Tony expansion pack and it's amazing)

Every game just feels like a disappointment now. Every Call of Duty has disappointed since CoD4, Fallout New Vegas was good but kinda disappointing, and I just don't get hyped for games like I used to. I'm not as pumped as I should be for Resistance 3 or Uncharted 3 even though I know they'll be amazing.

Not really, though I don't understand how you could ever replay your games that much. I only replay my games rarely when I get a sort of tinkling in the back of my head saying "I need to play this game again!".

That's what first and foremost playing video games for stories does to you.

It might, if that's what I did. Can't say I do though, so yeah...

Well, this actually plays into my hands, because what does that say about the PlayStation library? So yeah...

yup ps gamers only play for stories because its not possible for a game to have fun mechanics and also have a proper story...

and of course we all know its fact that nintendo is the only company that makes games with any true depth or length to them...

yes exactly... anybody that plays on any console without nintendos seal on it has ADD because nintendo games are the only games with depth and imagination and wonder and all that stuff...
