Forums - PC - Help me with a graphics card decision!

So I've been given the decision to get a new graphics card, it's a Nvidia GTX 295 1,792MB. The graphics card I have at the moment is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 275. Is it worth getting? Like... Is there a massive improvement between the two or not? I don't know much about graphics cards so I need your help!

It's nearly twice as fast as your old one so the decision depends on the price. I'd say it was worth $100 but perhaps not $150.

The GTX 295 is a beastly card but not really futureproof with it's lack of DX11 support wich is gaining traction in the industry. What resolutions and games you looking at using it for?

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Well basically I know a guy who's selling it for £50! And I was wondering whether it would be worth getting it. Also the rest of my specs are...

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz
and
3GB RAM

So did you get it?

Another question. DirectX11? I thought we were still on 10.

*checks his drivers*

Holy crap. I have DX11!

Nah, never bothered in the end. I have student loan come through and I'm looking into getting a DX11 card!

Yeah, get a DX11 card. Otherwise you'd end up replacing it after six months-to a year anyway.
