wtf? Multiple discs for a FPS?

you didnt read the review did you.

.............still, you are right.  Changing discs twice can be a drag when, like yourself, you are a seriously hardcore gamer that completes all of their games in one sitting, with no breaks for the toilet, food, water or sleep.  And never ever try to play a few different games at once.. you will have to swap discs.

Serioously can we just stop trying to make an issue out of disc changing. It isnt an issue, never was an issue and never will be an issue.

I didn't read any reviews for Rage yet. Waiting for Gamespot and IGN to post theirs, and everyone is assuming It's a FPS so I would be doing the same.

Disc changing is not a issue for me, but multiple discs for a FPS is pretty lame.

It's just that simple.

xbox 360 has more multi disk games than xbox 1 now. i dislike disk swapping as that was mainly ps1 days, this gen id only accept disk swapping on a good rpg but not on any other genre no way

re: the install on 360, well it depends on what game, if a game is really drive hungry your best of just installing of course its a brilliant option to have and if you have a large HDD your best of installing what ever games you currently play

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

>“On the 360 we don’t have a partial install option; it’s all or nothing, which is kind of unfortunate,”

is that mean this game will be like Forza 3/4(you don't need to change disc if you fully installed)

should of been known now since its on 3 disks 6-7gbX3=18-21

i really would like if the ps3 let you install any game completely on the HDD

Me too. I'd get huge SSD and enjoy uber fast loading in all games :D

Does anyone actually install their games anyway? I mean what does it do except for apparently reducing load times? Personally I have never had a problem with load times with my 360 games.

There are a number of advantages when installing games to the HDD

1. Reduced loading times

2. Much more quiet as disc doesn't spin

3. Less heat generated

4. Increases the reliability and lifespan of the 360

5. Games that stream textures from the disc (like COD games and many UE3 games) stream it much quicker if game installed.

John Carmack had a lot to say at this year’s QuakeCon. He almost talked for 90 mins without taking a break, but we know he can do that.

why?

Because FPS on consoles that use multiple discs are known to suck hard. Just look at Medal of Honor: European Assault for Gamecube.
