Forums - Gaming - Team Bondi (LA noire) goes bankrup

wow. sad news. I read it took the company nearly 7 years to make LA NOIRE. That is likely why they didnt make any money.

I wonder if they were in the process of developing anything else?

They definitely seemed mismanaged given how long the game took and the fact that, despite taking so long, they were in crunch time perpetually for like a year before the game released

Guess the mismanagement stretched to their financials as well

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

two actually, The Getaway 3 and Eight Days.

Why are people deserve, The Model of which Western developers build there games on is pretty much Russian Roulette with Gun. They poured everything they into 1 game for 7 years. There was no way they were gonna make the Xxpenese... The gambled, They lost and they have NOBODY to blame but themselves

This all or nothing mentality needs to stop.... pouring Millins of dollars and tons of time into 1 project when you could of mad serveral meduim size games and got profit is senseless

Wow... didn't see that coming. LA Noire sold really well too.

I guess Sony saw the problems early, and that's why they pulled out?

It's a real shame, from what I've heard L.A Noire is a great game.

This is exactly why budget games are better for the industry then these massive ones, you get a good game and it doesn't even need to sell alot, it might not look as good but the gameplay can be just as good if not better and the industry as a whole can support more games and developers and have more variety.

That really is poor management. How can you have a game sell so well and fail to make money? Pure idiocy.

Pretty much all their fault. If you need 7 years to make a game that is fun and will appeal to people, you are doing it wrong...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Massive AAA games are still important but the lesson here is that you probably shouldn't be investing that much time and money into a brand new IP. Spending that much time and money on an unproven IP is just arrogant.
