Also, if you're not allowed to have sex you can get pregnant... which happens all the time for girls under the age of consent.
It's not a good situation either way, but I don't think these problems stem from the age of consent.

the kicker is that the baby in that situation was the only one at the funeral.

This is a very sad story, as this sort of incident is tough on a mother of any age. It is not just limited to the under 18 crowd of birth givers either. I have had many friends and family members suffer a miscarriage, or stillborn, and all of them have had perfectly healthy kids before and after. They were all late 20's, early 30's at the time. Each of them needed a lot of support to make it through this situation. Hopefully this young lady has a good support system in place to make it through this. The last thing she needs is a bunch of society blinded fools telling her she got what she deserved.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Actually, we're more criticising her. Girls shouldn't be getting pregnant at 14. This isn't the Middle Ages anymore.

Well then maybe people in Brazil need to be educated more on wrong and right, I mean she could have just not have sex or even gotten an abortion because at 14 I'm very sure she wouldn't have been able to care for the baby very easily.
Either way this is very sad there's no way around it.

This is not a problem of nationality, this is a problem of poverty (and uneducation).
