Games should use the mayan numerals:

Interesting fact: This system was the first to represent the 0 with a symbol.

True statement

Anyone seriously cares about it ?

I wouldn't have created the thread if I didn't care.

There's no good poll option. There should be one that says "No", because I am not opinion.

I know Mayan's developed a zero symbol seperate from the Hindu's, but are you sure the Hindu's weren't technically first?

Games use roman numerals because marketing people believe it'll help sell games. Anyway what does matter that they use a different representation of a value... would FFX be any different if it used an octal system and thus was FF17? Or what about FFA using hexadecimal?

"Porch monkey"? Silly Superchunk. Monkeys don't have porches! They live in tree-houses!

I'm against Roman numerals, too. I mean, what have the Romans ever done for anyone except give us the phrase, "When in Rome...."? I say we use hash marks.

That would actually be awesome!

I'm changing my shortened name from 'TADS12' to 'TADSXII' thanks to this thread. Thanks for the idea superchunk!

That's obviously the superior name!

because it gives a slightly ancient feeling.
Thus perfectly fine for God of War or Age of Empires.
Now Latin was still big in the Middle Ages, so there is nothing wrong when RPG games have them, because many of them have a medieval style: Fable, Elder Scrolls, some Final Fantasies, Assassin's Creed etc.
