Forums - Nintendo - My rant on bad 3DS design: Power button

I got my 3ds at launch and I pressed that button maybe 3 times. I've only just closed it and thrown it in the charger. I've pretty much forgotten in even exists.

I turned it off to swap SD card.

I can imagine that pissed you off but I don't have that problem, press start the save, this problem never crossed my mind to be honest.

I'll admit it was a temporary lapse of judgement at the time. Surely if you played the N64 original, the GameCube version and the Virtual console version (along with the similar controls to Majora's Mask) that you felt even a little tempted to press start when you needed to save?

Maybe once or twice in majora's maks ,but i know you need to play the song of time or find a owl statue to save.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

The good thing about OoT's dungeons is that, while it may take hours the first time through, after you know all of the puzzles it only takes about 30-45 minutes to complete one.

I thought this thread was about how the Power button only works half the time. At least with my 3DS I hit the power button and the thing doesn't turn on so I have to hit it again and sometimes its taken up to four times hitting the dang button before the power light comes on. Its really annoying, anyone else have that probelm.

As for accidently hitting the button I did it while playing LOZ:OoT as well I had just reached Princess Zelda at the beginning of the game and I moved the 3DS because my sweet spot was gone and somehow pressed the power button. I tried to get back to the game but had to start from scratch back at the beginning of the game. So freaking annoying!

Urgh. Anyone who's even a tiny bit experienced with games knows it's only common sense to save your progress regularly. I mean come on, seriously?

lol when I get into a game I don't think the logical I should save. I'm an obsessive person I get way to into the games. I've done similiar things with playing Pokemon for a few hours then the battery dying or something happening and its all gone. Whats weird is no matter how many times this happens I always forget to save again.

Though I do try to remember saving, I just get so lost in the game!

Yes, I have the same problem. Hugely annoying.

Yeah, i've hit that button by accident once or twice. At the least, it should suspend your software to ask "Are you sure you want to shut down?" or give you the option of shutting down software and going to the home menu

I haven't done it in a week or so, though, because it really burns you when you do accidentally do it in Zelda. Other games i imagine it would be less damaging for, so long as they auto-save

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

On my 3DS you actually have to hold the power button in for a while.
