Forums - General - Why do people read tabloid knowingly and then some taken it as facts?

No, they are not actual headlines.  Just based upon Daily Mail headline stereotypes, such as immigration, single mother, cancer, etc.

In the U.K, their most infamous controversial headline was the one regarding the discovery of the Xq28 gene (that is believed to have links to male homosexuality) in 1993.  Their headline was 'Abortion Hope after Gay Gene Finding'.  Back in the 1930's, they had several headlines supporting various fascist groups around Europe ('Hurrah for the Blackshirts' for example).

O_O

And I thought Romanian newspapers were trash. At least they limit themselves to being softcore pronography.

"I don't understand how someone could like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, but not like Twilight!!!"

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

Well, I actually asked my mum about why we get the Mail rather than something a bit more substantial like the Times, and she said that she knew that the Mail was rubbish, but she generally agrees with the material that it posts.

Did she even realize what she said?

Where I live, around 70% of people vote conservative, so I don't really blame her

I was referring to the fact that she calls the material 'rubbish', yet at the same time she says she agrees with it. In other words, she admits to agreein with rubbish.

It's truth through repitition. You acknowledge that it's false, but if you keep reading and hearing about it, you instinctively believe it.

She agreed with the views before she bought the paper - she was brought up right-wing; that's what I mean

Its just good gossip and its nice to use a trashy mag about celebs to unwind sometimes, its like asking why girls would bother spreading rumours, judgments & speculation about other girls. Its just fun sometimes & everyone does it. It doesn't really matter if its real, its just funny/interesting to see what is actually said. Everyone knows to take it with a huge grain of salt.

This, plus people like to do it to celebrities because they have lots of money and are attractive and putting them down or talking trash about them makes people feel good.

take justin beiber, i have never witness such unitified global hate for one person. Espically on the internet.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Yet somehow he still manages to win awards voted for by the public, showing that he's probably equally loved by a certain category of people.

A legion of teen girls will stampede you if you dare say anything bad in front of them.
