Tabloid, in other words, fake news. Why do people enjoy/buy them when they know it's fake?

Ummm, you're really overestimating their abilities, no?

Hence, the title has "some taken it as facts"

From personal experience, I can say that most who buy them, think the info presented there is real.

So, I guess upgrade "some" to "many"?

Well, I actually asked my mum about why we get the Mail rather than something a bit more substantial like the Times, and she said that she knew that the Mail was rubbish, but she generally agrees with the material that it posts.

My Grandma reads the Daily Mail. She now hates immigrants and single mothers, despite herself being both back in the 1960s. She's also becoming increasingly Islamophobic. For years, the rest of my family have been trying so far unsuccessfully to ween her onto what we consider quality newspapers such as the Independent and the Guardian. My Grandma got a first class degree in Economics, I can't see how she is falling into their bullshit trap, I really hope I'm not like that when I'm in my 70s.

I'm also having fun at the moment with this Daily Mail headline generator I just found:

Try upgrading it from 'many' to 'most. Or better yet, to 'overwhelming majority'.

Did she even realize what she said?

Senility? And I was afraid being stuck in an old folks home was the worst thing that could happen when you're old...

'Are the Trade Unions turning Cliff Richard Gay?' LOL!

COULD THE LABOUR PARTY TURN THE MEMORY OF DIANA GAY?

Question: were these actual headlines?

No, they are not actual headlines.  Just based upon Daily Mail headline stereotypes, such as immigration, single mother, cancer, etc.

In the U.K, their most infamous controversial headline was the one regarding the discovery of the Xq28 gene (that is believed to have links to male homosexuality) in 1993.  Their headline was 'Abortion Hope after Gay Gene Finding'.  Back in the 1930's, they had several headlines supporting various fascist groups around Europe ('Hurrah for the Blackshirts' for example).

Also, I love this as well:
