No, they only expect 4 mill this year, not sure why they shipped so many this Q and didn't adjust, maybe they did a big shipment that will last a long while. We'll see next Q.

ps2 shipments are very close to wii shipments for the Q..so it's possible

PS2 is sold mainly in countries like India, were they are then modded and sold at stores with pirated games dirt cheap. For SONY this is fine because they are making lots of money off the hardware and building up a large consumer base for the PS3.

You have to remember that if just 0.5% of the install base replace their PS2 thats almost 0.75m sales...but this will stop eventually.

It's obviously not consistent, but the PS2's alredy had a few quarters where it outshipped bot the 360 and Wii, and PS3 I'd assume.  I think Ethomaz just reiterated that too, unless I'm misreading.

First, the PS2 is still the greatest selling console of all time, it is widely acknowledged on this site that the PS2 is undertracked by millions and is in fact still ahead of the DS by somethign like 4 million. 

Shipment wise, the PS2 has already had quarters where it out-shipped all 3 current gen consoles, maybe Ethomaz can confirm this.  Some people just think it might outlast the others because of emerging markets and the need to replace consoles, a console that is owned by far over 100 million people.  Depending on how long Sony milks emerging markets.....it is at least possible, even if it's not probable.

The DS is still yet to outsell/ship the PS2.

OT:

I dunno... Hard to say without looking at the next shipment. It's doing amazingly well in the emerging markets though!

Also, according to VGC, this Week the PS2 outsold the 3DS in EMEAA Regions by over 3000 units. The PS2 is 11 Years old and the 3DS isn't even 6 Months old. There are 2 generations between them. Does this count? lol

Wii can barely sell without next gen consoles on the market. No chances it will remain eternal seller like PS2.
