call me crazy but i see 4 more yr's for PS2 (just for developing markets) and the GBA is king if i remember correctly.

its very possible for NDS to out ship PS2 and sales will slump if 3DS takes off and if they do they'll sale abut the same over the course of there perspective life cyces until NDS is discontinued.

i expect NDS to be discontinued before PS2 is.

Does Sony even make money from PS2s sold in developing markets? I'm admittedly completely ignorant of the situation regarding this, but I can't imagine there being shops in countries like Brazil or India where you could just buy a legitimate (non-preowned/modded) PS2

The console is overpriced here ($350)... so Sony makes lots of money.

I dont know. I think the DS will die much more faster than the PS2... it's amazing how well the PS2 maintains its sales.
