Moving while shooting makes it an generic shooter. It will happen because there is no point in explaining aiming and shooting to every gamer. Kinda funny because this was one of those horror elements left in the game.

If they did add moving while shooting, I'd want it to be like Outbreak File 2 where you can only walk while shooting. I think running while shooting would take away from the "scare factor" (that's if they decide to make Resident Evil scary again).

So, we need confirmation? We knew it was coming...
As long as it's like 1 or Revelations I'll be VERY happy!

Also, no. Not for my idea of having the game in the city. City = lots of people. Lots of people = Lots of zombies. Lots of zombies = not an action game, but a game where you wont want to run in and shoot like crazy, because you shouldn't be getting so many damn bullets. You would want to take time. Find another route around. Find some way to distract them. It would make it much more tense, if you have 10 bullets in your gun but there are 15 zombies slowly coming towards you... "What the hell do I do here?!" |
It's not really an improvement, it just makes it like any other zombie shooting game. I wouldn't mind slight movement, like you said, backstepping while aiming, but none of this run and gun shit.
And I hope you are joking about the cover system...
Seeing a zombie every 10 seconds just kills the tention, I want to step through a door WONDERING if there will be a zombie there, not KNOWING there is a zombie there. I don't mind there being an onslaught of zombies in certain sections of the game but I don't want an action game.
I think the perfect balance of horror, puzzle solving and action, was Resident Evil 3. In my opinion it also had the better stories, enemies and design. After playing the first two games it felt so great to fight your way through Raccoon City rather than being stuck inside a mansion or police station.
I think we both want the same things out of Resident Evil 6, I just don't like the ideas you bring up to improve the game, I just picture the game being too un-original and not a survival horror game.

Agreed.
Im going to say this and be the outcast on this site but RE4 was my worst RE game i've ever played. Its not a bad game at all, but the worst of the RE main series (RE CV was better too). RE4 lost the original RE feel. RE5 did too but it made up for it with excellent coop.
OT: I hope RE6 brings the series back to its roots but keep the RE5 coop experience and that will make it my favourite RE game.
Resident Evil is great and its 1 of my favorite franchises but I don't really need a Resident Evil 6 announcement right now. I hope it comes out Late 2012 at the earliest...I already have a ton of RE to look forward to:
I am currently still playing The Mercenaries 3D. Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake is coming later this year as well as RE4 Remake and Operation Raccoon City...then sometime in 2012 comes Revelations. I already have Mercenaries 3D and will for sure be getting Revelations and the Code Veronica Remake. I will also probably get Operation Raccoon City. I might get RE4 Remake but I don't know yet as 4 is my least favorite main RE game.
