My JL prediction: The DS will sell its' current lifetime sales next year. Wii will sell 21 million, due to doubled production after March and introduction to China. PS3 will likely get to 18 million. 360 will get to 27 thanks toa price drop that puts the Core at near Wii-like prices.

Actually, John Lucas claims to reason out his predictions ("I don't just throw stuff out there!"), and then later claims he didn't (Wii passing 360 in July in US, Wii Fit first week beating Halo first week in Japan alone instead of WW--those were just off the cuff changes).
We give this guy way too much credit for seeing obvious market trends (Wii will sell well! More than 360! PS3 will lose support! OMG!), and then putting on an overblown sideshow about it.
Sean Malstrom actually explained why the market would shape up like it has. In comparison, Lucas is a poser.
My big 2008 prediction has been for several months that DS will reach 100 million shipments in the quarter ending December 2008.

It seems like John Lucas is wrong more often than right, am I missing something here? Or is this just blind worship?

I am not worshiping him, I am just saying instead of saying The Wii will sell 60mil!!! Baby. Actually tries to explain a scenario that it could happen. Sometimes it is an impossible prediction like WiiFit sales, because Nintendo NEVER goes for blockbuster releases. They like to go by word of mouth. If you do a Big mega release some people buy it just for the hype don't like, and now you have negative Word of Mouth.... rabbit trail...
neways I was just pointing out for it to be a JL you at least need to think of some crazy way that it could come true(like I did with my Wii Passing 360 in NA by 4/1/07)
