It doesn't change the point though, it's a machine that will consule ennergy and having it on with wifi might be a big burden. The 3DS consumes differently while playing DS games, which implies a big discrepancy of power consumption depending on the output. Vita might not have been built with a low consumption mode in mind and thus having wifi and other features "on" while in sleep mode may be a bigger hindrance than for the 3DS on the battery life. In any case, the Battery life fo the 3DS doesn't change the battery life of the Vita or PSP, all 3 systems are low for portables (even my xperia play has a longer battery life since the last update =D ) |
You realize the system is 6 months or more off and you're criticizing features we're just now getting the a tidbit of how they work and we don't have a full understanding of all the features yet, right?
The PS3 uses considerably less power while in stand-by mode with remote start (gives the PS3 a wireless router like mode so that you can connect your PSP directly or via the internet) and next to none with just regular stand by mode (Just the start button and the controller can turn it on). They got it right with the last system. What makes you think they'll be working backwards?
