LOL you got me :P but I fixed it :P better than DTM... WTF is DTM.
But seriously, you doubt Sony and the numbers it can pull. This is the 360's last year in 2nd place. Once the UK, France and Au start to sell more ps3's than 360, will we see a great increase. Jap will start to accept the ps3 more and sales for N/A can only get better.
That is imo - which is like everyone else's - Speculation. My thought here is, People are pro wii because it is leading atm. How many were pro Nintendo before the Wii? I doubt many. So people like to back the winner. The winner is not decided and to speculate that the Wii is going to win is not true as of yet.
In my view, the Wii will lose steam and eventually fall behind. That is where the ps3 as a stable runner - pacing will catch up. Sorry Wii fans next few years is going to be rough for the wii - imo. I'll respect true Nintendo fans - not these new/ wannabe fans that back a console because they are winning.

Well, I think Microsoft will have to drop their prices, especially in Europe, in order to effectively compete against the PS3. It's a hard battle there for MS, the Playstation brand name is really strong here.
However, that has nothing to do with the maths. Any simulation of 2008 sales, even using the worst case for the 360 and the best case for the PS3 shouldn't have the PS3 passing 360 sales this year, unless the PS3 starts selling as much as the Wii does or the 360 is officially cancelled (which no one in their right mind should expect).

Looks like America alone can't save the 360 now.....as numbers for the PS3 are getting closer per week in NA, numbers in Others are expanding between the two, and Japan.......well in the 360s case, that's PS3 land
Currently playing:
Unreal Tournament 3, Warhawk, Rock Band, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, DMC2, then 3, and Radiata Stories
"Stop the presses// It's been a while but I'm back in session// And in the past time my flow's matured more than adolescence// It's time to learn a lesson// So get you pen and your pad out, listen close, and take heed to this blessing"
The ps3 is half way of the 360 in over a year. The ps3 is selling better than the 360 during the same time. There are alot of PS fans waiting. GTA4 will bring alot of fans, and lets not forget what NCsoft or other new Devs to the console can do. Online games may even surprise people. Just say a game with the potential of Wow came to the ps3? So the future is uncertain. This is my opinion and my opinion stinks compared to others.

You've got to be kidding me right, you're overstating the value of HOME. It won't attract casual gamers because it's just not practical, why would they use the socialising network on HOME when they could instead buy a cheaper PC and go on one of the many virtual worlds (like Second Life) on the internet instead?
Seriously, HOME is not going to be the next big thing, no chance, Sony has designed a product for a market segment they don't even exist in yet, the casual market. You must think all females and casual gamers are simpletons as well if they are going to come to the PS3 in droves for a laughable IM system, a "design your own room" that they'll get sick of in about 5 minutes and a trophy case (which they won't use because the PS3's casual lineup is a joke).
HOME would have been a more viable option in Late 09 or even 10, when they have cut prices to a point that would attract every day consumers.
I love it how PS3 fanboys think that just because they're gaining a +% growth in sales, means they will be a runaway success. Common sense dictates that sales will plateau at some point, yet they seem to think that they'll surpass the 360 in 08 and somehow the wii in 09. By that logic, it would mean that both Microsoft and Nintendo would have to pull all their console stock from the market AND stop production for the year for sony to accomplish that. Even then I doubt Sony would have caught up

Ahh... good old price fixing. The way Microsoft always tries to win. First Windows for $3 in countries other than the US just to hold marketshare from Linux (OLPC, etc.), and now violating monopoly laws in a group of countries well known for holding Microsoft to the coals. Let's see how that turns out. I hope they try.
It seems the mods need help with this forum. I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

Oh , and a game doesnt has only to break even , it also has to bring some profit in ... |
Show me one big PS3 game that wont get profit for their company ... most ports allready make profit from the 360/PC versions , so the PS3 version will delete basicly the production costs ... now what company doesnt wants that ? Many Wii games are not multiplatform , maybe a PS2 version is in works to ... but if not a Wii game has to break even and get a profit alone ...

Are you being sarcastic? Have you looked at Sony, they predict to be losing money on PS3 hardware until 2009 at least... It seems that losing money on console hardware is a tradition by now, except for Nintendo.
BTW, I believe "price fixing" is not the correct term for what you're implying by quoting me.

You're engaging in a subtle mathematical fallacy which I see a lot in these forums. Comparisons like that are like making a race between a 4-legged horse and a 2-legged horse. As long as the PS3 could sell at more than half of 360's weekly sales, that was bound to eventually happen.
It's not a great feat, especially considering that the PS3/360 gap has actually widened since the PS3 was launched.

Lets just see how Home does. For one, players will meet up in game to play other games. They can have clan meetings, hold events, have parties. You have no idea what you could do with a community. I run a successful guild in UO and I know that when you run player events have meet ups etc it creates a deeper community.
Imagine a warhawk clan meet up. Talk about strategies, talk with other clans to start matches. That is where Home is going to rule. So just wait and see the potential. It's going to change gaming as we know it.
