You must be new to the internet. If someone posts a completely worthless thread, then people will respond with "cool story, bro" which is pure sarcasm. Both poll options are there to say that the thread is really bad. |
Sweet your story.
Don't mind if it's real or not, but remembered me to the times of Commodore64, there was a gremlins game and in the last level was a gremlin that jumped towards you and can't be killed. I tried several time and shoot with everything i had including triple torch front and backwards, the frisbee, everything...
hit him over 30 times or more, but he was invincible!
Well, the end of the story is that i tried again and again this stupid 2D not sidescroller, i don't know what the name for that genre was. Instead of scrolled gameplay, you jumped and shoot from left to right, when you reached the right side of the screen the next "level" began with the pixel-boy on the left side again and so on, you know!
Oh, yeah, there was this stupid weapon in that game, because you got points and after each level you were able to buy weapons, like the frisbee or the torch, three-way-mega-torch was the beast. And in the every level were some other weapons you were able to grap, most of them better than the weapon you had in the beginning. But after you earned enough points, sometimes it was better to avoid the weapon-icon to not loose your beloved three-way-mega-torch.
Well, in this fu.... last level (or second last one, i don't remember) there was this cheap telephone-weapon-icon everywhere, it was so cheap, like 30 points, instead of 45k for the mega-torch and it was the worst weapon of all, including the standard weapon, a one way torch. The torch was able to shoot 1 pixel per second a fith of the screen, but the fu... telephone just directly in front of you with a little curve.
As soon as you caught that little thing, you were unable to survive. Shitty game!
Than after some years, i watched gremlins the movie again and there was this inteligent gremlin that looked like the 15 pixels from the game.
I don't remember even the movie now, but i think this intelligent gremlin was killed with a telephone-electroshock or something like that, i don't remember exaclty.
THE TELEPHONE!!!
Yeah, the last little gremlin was not invincible, it's the shitty telephone-weapon.
So i played it again in times of SNES, this bulky Commodore 64 with its joystick and two buttons control and yeah
i never reached the last level again, so i don't
know if the last gremlin could be killed.
That's life!
***Just kiddin, i tried again and reached the last level, took the shitty phone weapon and killed this little bastard with one shot directly in front of me.
End of the game
Then within 15 minutes my Commodore loaded the greatest picture ever created on the C64,
a picture with a green-blooded stairway in front of an exploded indoor swimming pool or whatsoever.
Try to find the picture, Rol!
That would make me happy, again!
I never had that problem on Turok Evolution... because I played the GC version, which trumps all!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
That poll is unfair ! You have the cool story option, the super cool story option...but you don't have the Super super cool story option.

Well, i don't know if that's sarcasm or not.
But it's difficult to describe this whole story adequate.
You should know that we laughed at the one playing the game every time he/she accidently crapped this seeming pointless weapon and died instantly. We were young, very young.
The telephone-weapon was a running gag (for us kids) years before i finished the game finally, and ironically this shitty weapon was the solution.
Ah, like i said before, it's an unreproducible story i guess.
I'm surprised you that didn't play the Gamecube version..
Pixel Art can be fun.

I genuinely loved it. I have so many stories like these, but it's hard to remember them all. Lots of childhood moments some of us shared in videogames.
