.....lmao

Sorry, the Tales Series is still far superior when it comes to making a single player game multiplayer. Get Tales of Symphonia and play it =D.
Tales of Symphonia aside (Haven't played it, so no idea) my title is still 100% accurate, as I said multiplayer SUPPORT, not multiplayer games. All the other games I've heard mention, you either are playing single player OR multiplayer. If you want to switch from one to the other, you have to stop or finish one before you can start the other.

The second player is really useful in most levels, but I find they have nothing to do in the purple coin levels. Also, a second cursor on the screen can be pretty distracting sometimes.

yeah....player 2 xcan stop enemies, attack enemies and collect star bits..makes the game super co-operative and cool!

I don't think it's the best multiplayer option out there but it does have potential. Imagine if it's implemented in a game where you can build your own stages where one player is the character that goes though the level, and the other acts as virtually the whole environment. The second player has to try and stop player 1 by using the tools (the environment) around them to their advantage.
It sounds good in thought but I wonder how it would play out if someone actually made it.
""in a primarily single player game.""
Starcraft/Diablo? I have played them mainly for single-player. But of course we could argue what "primarily single-player" means.
Seems to me like a phrase for taking out all games with good multiplayer from the equation
.
A bit like Apple is the 99% market leader for white Notebooks.
Hmm, at first I too thought the title of this thread was sarcastic.. But after reading your post I have to agree. I can see how agonizingly difficult parts of the game, like the purple coin-collection games, daredevil runs and other stuff can be made way easier with the help of a second player. Hmm.
Too bad the friend I usually play SMG with is most of the time bent on giving me as hard a time as he possibly can. :p
2008 Predictions:
Kyros you can't seriously be arguing that Starcraft and Diablo are primarily single player games.. I mean really!
I guess if they are on the same page we'll be seeing SMG tournaments in Korea :P
