Forums - Microsoft - Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to 360? or fake

IF THIS IS REAL, and sony does not know they were actually developing the game SONY can SUE them for breaking the 6 month contract.

Since it isnt true, and never will be konami is safe.

You didn't read the link, as it clearly states the port is supposed to come 12-14 months later, NOT less than six months. No violation, so you haven't debunked this.

Now considering this is a biased source, I might be inclined to dismiss this as well. Yet with sites like Kotaku and Joystiq looking closer (not giving the benefit of the doubt, just looking closer), all of you just claiming this is fake is not really debunking this, considering those sites have pointed out this is just another bit of information, not just something out of nowhere.

Note I am NOT claiming this is real, just that you all typing "fake" is not proof that it's fake.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

MGS4 will never be released on the Xbox 360, however the inevitably MGS4: Substance is a more than good chance of being released on the 360.

Debating with fanboys, its not

""2) There is no way Microsoft would allow Sony to keep one of it's biggest fish forever""

==> a 1 year exclusivity
it is like a full exclusivity

if the Xbox360 want to win, it has to do it now, when the PS3 is delaying her game and when the Xbox360's line-up is still over strong.

Time to Work !

Does not really matter. Sony will prevent it from being officially announced until after launch, I would guess 6 months so that the 360 fanboys will give up waiting and just buy their PS3s. If it comes out 1 year after it does not matter, it is essentially exclusive, unless of course Microsoft announce the game 1 week before launch

Until Konami makes such an announcement, I will treat any MGS4 on 360 stories as complete bunk.

I say timed exclusive as well, just from a pure commercial stand point because:

1) There is no way a high production cost game like MGS4 would not want to maximise it's potential audience (Difference from last gen is that the xbox didn't have a audience worth porting for, this time around it does)

2) There is no way Microsoft would allow Sony to keep one of it's biggest fish forever

I don't have any proof or evidence to support my thoughts, but I'm just using my logic here, so I could very well be wrong. Some more food for thought is that gaming companies have been notorious for going back on their word over the years, so just because Konami says exclusive, I wouldn't take it as concrete and certain forever.

You dont know Sony is rich as hell too right? Why do people think that Microsoft can pay their way into everything? It is exclusive, forever. Sony may have already paid them off in some way.

And as for sales, this game will be the first KNOWN AAA title for the PS3. It will have a larger install base than Gears of War with more hype. And it will sell in EVERY region. This game will hit atleast 5,000,000 lifetime. It will more than cover production costs. And dont talk about attach rates, just look at Assassins Creed (better on PS3) and COD4 (better on Xbox360 but within 5%)

As I said earlier in another thread linking to this EXACT SAME ARTICLE, if there was the 1-year exclusivity, it would be like RE4. Uber-hyped as a Gamecube-exclusive deity, it wound up selling several million copies. Then, about a year later (little bit less) Capcom tossed it onto the PS2, and sold a few million MORE copies (though not as many as on 'Cube). That is how it would be if the timed-exclusive was true.

I don't know what your talking about, both games sold better on the 360 by a good margin. Also if your only talking about others Assassin's creed on the 360 is only sold 22 443 less than the ps3 version. And for the ps3 version of call of duty 4, it sold 248 488 less than the 360 version in others. If your gonna mention how the ps3 version of a game sold better than the 360 version you should mention how close they actually are.
