Forums - Nintendo - Is this 3Ds package a good deal?

So, there's this guy who's selling his 1 month old 3ds with 3 games, super street fighter iv 3d, dead or alive dimensions and ridge racer 3d. he's selling it for about $280.00. Is this a good deal? honestly, i could care less about mario and zelda and i'm not particulary interested with dead or alive, ridge racer or ssfiv 3d..but its 3d...there aren't any games that i seem interested in in the coming months...but its 3d...i hated the ds touch screen controls...but its 3d...well you get the picture. i want a 3DS just for the 3d effect and i just want opinions on wether $280.00 with the three 3ds games is a good buy or not.

getting two free games isn't enough? You want to take our money too??

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Does the 3DS still have 3-5 hrs of battery life? If so, then I would save my money and just wait for the 3DSlite to arrive. That's what I'm doing. Until then I'll just continue playing my DSlite.

If you absolutely must have the 3DS and you don't care for the other games, I guess you could buy it and just sell the games. That could make it worth it I guess.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

yea its a good deal. But you seem like you wont fully enjoy it yet.

Yes, it's a good deal. But if you don't like neither the games you will get with it nor the games that will come in the coming months, then why buy it now? As regin2005 said wait until Nintendo launches a revision with longer battery life and a screen with (hopefully) more sweet spots to see the 3D effect.

Buying a console "because it's 3D" when you don't like the games it has is not a good idea and you will regret it later on.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

It's a good deal. but ask yourself- is there any games you do want for it, or will it just gather dust after the 3D effect has worn out?

The answer should be your decision.

How do you know there will be a 3DSLite coming in the next few months? This isn't like the DS. That was clunky, with a poor battery life and a weak backlight. The Lite was THE DS, really. The Phat was a dry run.

They won't do a HW revision just to improve battery life, and mine's still on the go after 8 hours of web browsing. Just turn on power-saving, and turn off 3D and you can easily double the battery life.

Ah! so it is a good deal! that's good! anyways, i can always do one of the ff

1. play ds games on it...too bad i dont really care much about the stylus thing
2. pick up zelda and see if i can get into it. i may not care much about zelda, but it doesnt mean i automatically wont like it if i tried it..(good thing i haven't played it yet so it will be a new experience for me)
3. buy it then break it up and sell the games and the handheld individually for a nice little profit LOL

i dont think the 3ds will be getting a new revision any time soon since its already nice and stream lined. as for the games, i may not be interested in any of the current and up coming line up. but that doesn't mean that i wont like any of them if i tried them. the trick to having a long and enjoyable gaming life is being open to trying new games, new ips, new generes etc.

no. wait for the vita to come out. 3ds should see a price cut of about $50
