Forums - General - do you know how to use chopsticks?

So I grew up in Hawaii, and I am part asian but I do NOT know how to use chopsticks.  Is that fked up or what?

I mean I can play guitar pretty good, but for the life of me I just can't pick up a damn thing with the chopsticks.  I use a fork because when I'm hungy I can shovel huge amounts of rice or whatever into my mouth.  You just can't do that with chopsticks.

So does anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, but I've only eaten Chinese food twice before xD I haven't had many chances to use them.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
Yes, for an Asian guy that is a little bit messed up. ( I meant it is messed up for you, I am south asian...)
At one time I was getting the hang of it, but now I feel like fork elitest, and believe that I shouldn't even bother with method of eating that I consider any necessary.
yea they are good for losing weight as well.
I started eating with chopsticks two years ago and now I mastered it. Aside from big things like bread I can eat almost everything with chopsticks. It isn't really hard, you just need to get the hang of it. Just try further and don't let yourself get discouraged. It can be frustrating at the beginning but the learning curve is really steep.
playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles
Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA
bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.
I've been using them for about seven years, I learnt on my first trip to Japan and have used them ever since. I find that they force you to take much more consideration with your food and it slows the pace of eating which makes the meal feel much lighter. Over the years I've picked up on a whole bunch of Asian eating mannerisms, it's fun and it does make the meal a little more interesting.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
Yes I can use any chopstick but my favourite are  chinese one's with a flat end and not a pointed end like japanese ones..
From top to bottom: plastic chopsticks from Taiwan, porcelain chopsticks from mainland China, bamboo chopsticks from Tibet, palmwood chopsticks from Vietnamese, stainless flat chopsticks from Korea (plus a matching spoon), a Japanese couple's set (two pairs), Japanese child's chopsticks, and disposable "waribashi" (in wrapper)
Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
I use chopsticks every day. (Japanese people always compliment me because I hold the chopsticks correctly, which hardly a Japanese does. :P )
I can use them just fine, though I'm fairly certain that I don't hold them correctly.
