sigh..... PS3 is DLNA certified for down streaming HD videos, it's not an ideal device for up streaming HD videos unless you are running off the gigabit ethernet since you'd want the device to handle more than one stream, in which the memory print would become a problem due to the PS3 having shit for ram, the most it'd be able to do is acting like a file server in this case since coding it to encode videos to different devices via different profiles at the same time would be a pain in the ass for Sony.

i never said it was the perfect device for streaming just that it can stream at high resolutions even HD

i can't find one but i shouldn't have to you don't seem to understand what setting it up as a media server means... all it is, is sharing files on a network ( wireless or wired ) and yes this can be done as a secondary operation while the browser is used

heres a link explaining it : http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connectdlna.html

"About DLNA

DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a standard that enables digital devices such as personal computers, digital video recorders, and TVs to be connected on a network and to share data that is on other connected, DLNA-compatible devices.

DLNA-compatible devices serve two different functions. "Servers" distribute media such as image, music, or video files, and "clients" receive and play the media. Some devices perform both functions. Using a PS3™ system as a client, you can display images, or play music or video files that are stored on a device with DLNA Media Server functionality over a network.

and yes it means the ps3 can stream files at high resolutions...

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Dont get dullsional now."

dude up till now all i've been doing is showing you how laughably stupid many of the claims you've made are whether it be nonsense about how devs are already developing for features nintendo has said are not finalised with the wii u or stuff like saying the wii u transmits hd up till now you've been as you say "dullsional" you do realise that of course?

Amm......    and this proves what?

well if you don't understand the info provided by that link continuing this discussion further is pointless and funny enough given the posts you've made i can't say i'm surprised

"and yes it means the ps3 can stream files at high resolutions"

Sorry missed the sentence before. but really it said it it can stream( stream means real time,  you see the video instantly, didnt see the word stream in the entire thing) high resolution video( assuming this is what u meant by files, close to HD) from the ps3 to pc screen. wirelessly. I didnt catch that.LOL

links explaining dlna ( i would advise you to go to all these links and read them then you'll get a better understanding of whats going on )

Ok after wasting 30 mins of my life I'v come to the conclusion that u do not know what upstreaming wirelessly  means.

DLNA uses  NAS(network attached storage device). Its just convenient method of sharing files among multiple computers. So if  you think this is the means  your ps3 is going to upstream in realtime high resolution game video directly  to vita seemlessly.  well sorry the ps3 can t do everything.( really am being polite here those links were really pointless).

No ND.

PSV cannot stream content from PS3/4 at the level Wii U can, nor can it do motion tracking like Wii U's pad can.

And of course there's the price of entry for PSV and PS3/4.

The again, this is what you would expect them to say about the competition.

while i agree with this "And of course there's the price of entry for PSV and PS3/4."

"PSV cannot stream content from PS3/4 at the level Wii U can" im cuirious as to why you say this since the psp was already capable of this :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mASdFCTNA7I

"nor can it do motion tracking like Wii U's pad can" i'd also like to know how you know that who says the motion sensing on vita isn't better?

Too bad only the shittiest of games supported this. That actually doesn't look that bad.

whats with the cussing?

when i read your comment i had this impression of you

naughty dogs comments were never about the games in question but only about the capabilities of the devices... just chill out

Cry me a FUCKING river.

lol im not the one crying here

Alienating the expanded audience:

1.  The controller is intimidating because of it's gigantic SIZE. Even some of the gaming press were intimidated by it's size.

That in addition to having 2 analog sticks and a quite a few buttons.  Were it just a touch screen like most smart phones I wouldn't be claiming as much. Notice how most smart phones dropped all those other input methods to streamline the product.

2.  The price will be raised so they can add features like HD and an expensive complicated controllers that most of the expanded audience dont really care about.

3.  Nintendo hasn't been making successful expanded audience software themselves. Unless you count the marginally upgraded Nintendogs + cats and we see how that is faring sales wise.  I don't think DS leftover ideas will be enough to spark the fire that Wii had.

Alienating the "core" audience:

4.  Non-clickable circle pads with awkward placement. They help for having extra actions in FPS games etc.

5.  Only one Wii U controller per console

6.  Leaving the online structure up to 3rd parties on a title by title basis.

No built in HDD.

No announcement of a way to transfer over the digital content they have already purchased.

1.  The very point I'm making is that the controller doesn't have to be seen as a complicated device; it's all dependent on software.  Picture games that are completely reliant upon the touch-screen where buttons are rarely, if ever, used.  It can easily function as a tablet would, with full navigation done on the touch-screen alone.  The buttons are there for the other games, just as the nunchuck was for the Wii remote.

2.  Again, it's the addictive software utilizing the new controller that would interest the expanded market.  The price could be as little as $299, which is only $50 more than the Wii at launch.

3.  I agree that DS leftovers aren't enough, but we don't have evidence that this will occur.  And the example you site is a 3DS game.  Remember that the 3DS does nothing new over the DS other than better hardware and the 3D effect.  Not so with Wii U, which offers a new way to interact with a home console.

4.  Now this I agree with; they need better sticks...

5.  No, both Reggie and Iwata have stated it can support more than one touch-screen controller.

6.  Actually I've heard that many online-heavy companies would welcome this freedom.

1&2.  I do not give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt when it comes to software.  Not anymore.  They need to show something. Why have I already seen more PS3/V games doing what Nintendo claims Wii-U is all about?

3. We have already seen Nintendo try this.  The sales on those games weren't stellar.  Getting people to have expensive multiple controllers together to play a game is difficult. It'd be like playing 4 swords or crystal chronicles.  Insanely prohibitive cost investments that ultimately don't make it worth while.  Having a screen in your hands is not a new  way to interact with a home console. All Wii-U offers is increased graphical power over the Wii.

5. They said it can but they are looking at it with one in mind.  I don't care what it can do I care what it will do.

6. Money grubbing publishers charging more for online. I'm sure they do like it that way but I don't necessarily think thats good for the customers.

1&2.  Doubting Nintendo is your prerogative.  But the reason there's more PS3/V seen so far is because, well, Nintendo hasn't shown any games yet that will be on the Wii U, just demos.

3.  Comparing the capabilities of the Wii U and the GC/GBA is flawed.  The Wii U is far more capable and interactive than the GC/GBA could ever hope to be.  Do you really believe that the GC/GBA could stream a full console game onto the screen or get multiple views of games from above, behind, etc.  And something like that ninja-star demo from the Wii U trailer?  So no, Wii U offers far more than just graphical power over Wii.

5.  They are concerned about price when considering buying three additional controllers, but clearly it can support more than one for at least some games.  They've even mentioned the fact that friends bringing their controllers over is likely.  I'm sure you couldn't stream Crysis 2 flawlessly to three or more controllers and the TV at once, but do you think Madden wouldn't support two screen-based controllers when all it would require is streaming play-calling?  Doubtful.

6.  No, from what I understand some companies complain about annoying restrictions on Xbox Live, for example, and would prefer more freedom.

and im talking about upstreaming wireless here.

But Im just waiting for when he realizes the ultimate Truth. PS3 is not design to run games  above(or any where near) 1560P. XD

Am just giving him the many other reason why this wont work.

you do realize that the PSV is "only" qHD (960x540), so  why would we care if it streams 1560p (a resolution way higher than 1080p) it only has to stream qHD, as resolution thats still  higher than the wiiU controller

it doesnt need to run games with that resolution, to stream games at qHD, yet alone at 1080p or lower. not to mention the Vita has its own cpu/gpu.

u clearly have no idea what you are talking about other than just making wild speculation. just wait for the PSV to come out.

youll be eating lot'O crow
