This thread makes me wanna pre-order Battlefield 3!!!

It is more that Battlefield 3 looks quite good, and MW 3 looks like MW 1, Ignoring whatever marketing ploys people are throwing at me, Battlefield 3 genuinely looks like the better game

And I emailed the admin of the site and said I didn't see the difference between the two games, and brought up Homefront, and got a reply back that the site was a parody site.  So, end result, I get it now, and am chilled about things.  I see, like with my "Why would anyone play paintball because it doesn't have deformable terrain?" that it is hard to tell a spoofing thread vs a genuine rant one.

What annoys me about partisan rants, is that they end up free marketing for a game company, and don't do anyone any service to help them make a proper buying decision.

As far as the games go, I am about full of modern day FPS.  Only reason why MW3 gets my interest is their introduction of a Hoard mode to it.  The story will likely be ultrabullocks on MW3, so it is a matter of what features it has.  I still haven't seen what BF3 will be doing that means I should add it to my library of games, particularly if it won't have local split screen to play.

TBH it makes me want to buy a second copy of Skyrim and Batman

I just laugh at the Call of Duty haters. Yeah the CoD series has gone downhill since CoD4, but its still one of the best shooters on the market.

And its not like Battlefield is that great. Dedicated servers are awesome, but that doesn't change the fact that the game is a campfest, and the maps are way too big for a fps. And there's what 2 game modes? Conquest and Rush? CoD has like 15 game types to choose from.

I'm not even a CoD fanboy, I won't be buying MW3 until well after it's release, and I will probably be buying BF3. I just find the CoD haters hilarious. Just because Battlefield is the best alternative to CoD, doesn't mean its a better game than CoD.

Agree, but marketing works. Though I think if BF3 wants to take any players from COD. they'll have a better chance with their open beta. Maybe they'll advertise the beta so atleast the average gamer knows about it. idk..thats the only way I can see their marketing work.

Couldn't be more different?  If that is the case, then which of these is not a FPS: MW3 or Halo?  Because if they "couldn't be more different" then something like Halo would have to be a completely different genre.  And, if they couldn't be more different, then someone could comfortably own both.  But, you know what, when I see BF3 vs MW3 it is buy on or the other.  BF3 is NEVER shown to be justified as something worth buying under its own merits.  It is supposed to be something that does what MW3 does, but better.  You get BF3 over MW3, it is said.

As for them not being similar, I give you the Crack chart on the state of FPS titles today...
