^I think your fooling yourself
GoW wasn't a System Seller, can be GoW a handheld seller??
I don't think so, maybe is going to spice the sales a little, but not a huge jump...
@Sleepwalking: Personally, I don't care how well it does, it's just my gut feeling. I could be wrong.
Blaming piracy is BS. Other handhelds/consoles could be pirated, too. But, few of you always defend PSP as if piracy is the doom and gloom.
People just aren't buying PSP to play PSP games...
It will sell well, partially because it is great game, and also because Sony will sell a limited edition bundle (GoW colours) which will do quite well, as well as a normal bundle.
I think there will be a small boost, but not a huge one
the PSP is alot easier to hack then any other console or handheld ever made. It dosen't require a mod chip or any extra purchases. to mode a DS you need to buy 70 bux worth of stuff. the R4 about 50bux and a micro sd card from 15 to 40 bux.
god of war CCO will sell PSP systems however existing owners with hacked firmware psp's will just download it like they usually do. but this game does have the respectfull enough name to get even hacking owners to buy it cause its just that good of a franchise.

I think Sony will hype the crap out of it because of the low attach rates and the fact that it's their biggest first-party PSP game, coming from a popular series. With this in mind, I think a 12-15% attach rate is believable.
EDIT: OOPS! I meant if the PSP sold 33 million by that time, I could understand a 6-8% attach rate. |

Ease of hack doesn't prove it. Are you saying everyone will hack? There are people that will buy the game to support the devs that make good games. (go ahead, raise your hand if you are)
The population that don't buy legit games are a lot smaller. I am sure you would agree PS2 mod is quite large, too. Why isn't that being blamed for bad sales?
Even for computer games. People use excuses that games are being downloaded instead of a legit purchase. Then came along "Galatic Civilization 2" which comes totally DRM/whatever free. Sales were great. Game was great.
People that aren't going to buy the game to begin with will not buy it. It's not a lost sale. It weren't going to be sold to begin with.
Guess what the people I know that use their psp for? Play SNES games and listen to music and watch videos. They buy games for PS2, PS3, 360, etc. Just not psp.

Mod chips, having to open the console, and extra purchases don't really stop anyone who's going to hack a console from doing so. Just look at the Xbox and the PS2. Both of them had/have a mod scene that's far larger than that of the PSP and the latter can be modded with freaking Play-doh, yet neither of them saw such low software sales.
People are simply buying the PSP as a multimedia device first and a gaming device second because that's how Sony marketed it. That's not to say that people don't want to play games on it at all as it does have 12 million sellers and a grip of other titles that have sold atleast 500K, but that's become secondary to music and movies. You throw in a MS Pro Duo and you've basically got an Ipod Nano that plays games, and that's what's driving a lot of the hardware sales. For a little bit of anecdotal evidence, it's a very popular handheld, I see lots of people using them no matter where I go whether it be Philadelphia, New York, DC, Boston, etc, but they are using them as MP3 and movie players, not nearly as much for games.
Seriously, blaming so-called "piracy" is a lie and a shame. If it really had this kind of an effect on sales, then all of the record labels should have filed for bankruptcy a long time ago considering that for years now it's been possible to download an artist's entire discography in mere hours(at the most). The same can be said for the movie industry with the rise of Bittorent and Emule which make it possible to do the same thing with movies.
There are probably just as many people doing this with the DS considering that it's both easier and cheaper.
Consoles owned: Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PSP, DS, PS3
