Forums - Movies & TV - Live action Mass Effect film at ComicCon

http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/mass-effect-3/1181087p1.html

This is awsome news. I heard about this last year but figured it would go into development hell like the halo movie. The doctors and Casey Hudson are the producers so hopefully it wont be crap like all the other movies based on games. It is believed that it wont be based off of mass effect 1, which is good in my oppinion(i mean how would they make that into a 2 hour movie, maybe if they split it up into 2 movies they could make it)

some of the artice:

" In May 2010 Legendary acquired the Mass Effect movie rights and immediately asked Protosevich to pen the script. According to the film's producers (via subscription-based IMDB Pro), the film will tell the backstory of the Mass Effect games and mankind's discovery of Prothean ruins on Mars. Based on the game's lore, humans will in turn discover FTL travel and the Mass Relays, leading to their initial encounter with the Turians and sparking the First Contact War.

The movie is expected sometime in 2012. ComicCon kicks off on July 21 and runs through the 24th in San Diego. "

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Wow thought you meant it was a small indie like movie by the title. This is petty cool news.

A movie would seem so cool however I just don't have much faith in it working because all video game to movie flims don't. Sure every now and then a cool one comes but still does not measure up to the game.

I hope it's something decent.

Casey Hudson being the producer is good news, and from the sound of it this movie is actually not based on the games, but the background lore of the series, which is also good news since no game based movie has ever been done right. Just make a good human-alien brawl , throw some ME characters in between, leave commander Shepherd out of it we might just have a decent movie, would even be better if the illusive man is the lead.
