Forums - Nintendo - If NoA doesn´t give in and localise Xenoblade/TLS for North America, I ask you..

...would you like Reggie to leave NoA?

A lot of people want these games localised for the NA market, gamers and gaming sites are joining the campaign to get NoA to at least seriously consider...but even with all that, if NoA doesn´t move a muscle, they´re just giving many gamers the middle finger.

Reggie should leave regardless.
I find him truly obnoxious... I cringe every time I see him on stage.

I agree.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I think that Nintendo should release Monolithsoft and IP ownership of TLS. I cant believe that thay have to consider Localizing a game made by Hirinobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Takahashi. If you dont want your JRPG's to succeed or grow let them be free

Microsoft was far better on that front with Lost Oddessy handling!!!!

And I do hope they let Monolith Soft go, those guys need to find a better publisher for themselves, its so sad how SquareSoft took away their budget from Xenogears for FF8 (yeah they weren't monolith soft then but testsuya takahashi again), then we all know what Namco did to them. Now Nintendo can't even localize their masterpiece to America!

They need a publisher that will respect them!

Its Sad... Tetsuya Takahashi is great developer that is constantly hindered by the people he works. He needs a breakthrough...seriously.

You think it takes the decision of one man and one man only to localize those games?

I'll play the Euro versions then lol, not that I didn't play the JP versions already....

honestly I don't know how much of this is because of Reggie. If it is, then obviously I want his head on a platter , but doing away with stupid pointless region-locking would also be enough to satisfy me.

Of course, if there is an actual suitable replacement for Reggie's position, maybe even someone from inside the industry, similar to how Iwata came from HAL - i.e. someone who actually gives a damn about software - I'd have Reggie's ass cut loose faster than a wiimote's wrist-strap

Which brings up an interesting question... who would you nominate to take his place? (I mean within reason)

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

I've always though Reggie was a bit of a wanker, recent events are only confirming this view.

Anyway, I'm very glad that Monolith are a Nintendo 1st party. At least this way their games are getting localised for Europe, which is more that can be said for when they were part of Scamco (only Xenosaga II and the 1st Baten Kaitos saw a PAL release and those were handled by Sony and Nintendo respectively). For me, the current situation is far preferable.
