woah...welcome to the twilight zone

well I'm 19 and I've been waiting for FFXIII VS as well so that a good chuck of my life, nearly a third
waited 7 years for golden sun 3

Yep same case as my friend above. The bolded part at least.

And looks like I'd have to wait another year or so.

Or maybe 2 years if this is how Square plans to release Versus XIII.

2011 JP Dec: FF XIII -2 released

2012 West Mar: FF XIII-2 released

2012 JP Spring: Type 0 released

2012 JP Dec: Versus XIII finally released

2013 West: Mar: Versus XIII finall available worldwide

That would just be balls...

Type-0 is coming out this summer in Japan.

XIII-2 this winter I think

So Versus XIII is not far off!

Versus XIII was announced in 2005?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Same here bro, I've been waiting a long time too.

taken the fact about how long it has been in production, it could very well be the first multi bluray disc game. its possible, not impossible.

I doubt that, a dual layered blue ray disc can hold around 50gb, so a multi disc game on blue ray sounds kind of far fetched.

honestly this is the biggest problem with Square Enix and Japan in general.

Their development times are WAY too damn long which cuts massively into profits as well as interest in a game. At this point Versus XIII's wait has been rediculous and no matter how good it ends up being it won't justify that long of a development cycle. Japan needs to better learn how use resources and maximize what they can get from each developer and studio.

Its not far fetched at all. I'm not ruling out the possibility. Take MGS4 for example. It had a few features cut from the game so it would fit on a Blu-ray disc. I'd imagine a good deal of that has to be cinematics, uncompressed audio and the like. The cinematics all utilize in game assets and MGS has never had FMV cutscenes. The uncompressed audio is the issue at hand, and all the 1080p greatness.

I base my theory on these interviews with Nomura. I understand what he is doing is the same with MGS4 when it comes to cinematics. The graphics will be on par with FMV as far as I know in one of his interviews he explained.

*rocks back in forth in a padded cell.*

Must play *rocks more*

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

im 21 too...ahhhh...but for real now Square and every other developer need to stop announcing a game when its not coming out a half decade...this is just stupid...announce it if its coming out next year and before that dont talk about it...

While I agree, I think that also is the problem with Western Developers. A lot of projects seem almost the exact same as the previous, given only 2 years of development time, with just simple tweeks. I wonder if it possible to find a nice balance of the two....
