Ubisoft is at it again. I already thought they were pushing this dance genre by having yearly updates, but they've outdone themselves further more. After the hit of the first Just Dance, it was no surprise they would upgrade the franchise accordingly in its sequel and it showed in the sales. But the sales got the better of the developer, we've seen spin-offs sprouting out during the last year series ranging from the Michael Jackson Experience, Dance on Broadway, Just Dance Kids and now the newly announced Just Dance: Summer Party; a 20 song pack (is it the DLC?) to be released on mid July for 30$, just three months before Just Dance 3. Talking about JD3, the announcement at E3 was a bit of a let down, was expecting more innovation from them, but the new features mentioned were four on-screen dancers*, animated backgrounds and extra modes... and no talks on importing songs from previous games or DLC transfer. This genre might become stale, at least for me, I've Just Danced.
*: Four player dances could be fun if they are coordanated and you have enough space (duets were hard enough in both respects xD)
Edit: ... okey ... just reading JD3 page on Wikipedia, and it seems they're making a film of the game:
| The upcoming film adaption is speculated to be released around October 2011. The film is currently in pre-production and begins filming in June and July. |
