Devs are making much money with making HD remakes of their best selling titles.
Just look at all the HD remakes that popped up after the GoW Collection.

Yea, as manuel and ramuji said, the japanese text actually says that the model doesn't have PS2 software compatibility!

Btw the other PS3 models that are detailed on that site have exactly the same line of text and those pretty obviously didn't have PS2 backward compatibility. You have to wonder why people don't double check that before making a news out of it *sigh* .. gaming journalism..

i dont buy the HD remake thing, yes they are making money of it, but they could make way more on the PS2 library as a whole, and people would still buy the remakes anyway, as there HD and have trophies. Sony clearly realise this too else they wouldn't be doing HD versions of PSP games when people can still just by the PSP version.

Still i doubt it will be BC, i hope the PS4 and PSVita are ps2 compatible tho.

Would be better for many people if they just put ps2 games on psn. O well
