There have been previous threads about this topic, but since the 3DS userbase is starting to expand, and more games are coming out, we are getting closer to the 1st 3DS title selling a million units Worldwide (not shipped, that several games have already passed).

So which game do you think will be the first to break the million mark, and when do you think it will happen?

The current top 3 sellers are

Nintendogs + Cats -.51 million

Super Street Fighter IV - .39 million

PilotWings Resort - .35 million

Ofcourse The Legend of Zelda: OoT 3D is releasing this week and posed for the largest first week sales of a 3DS game yet.

Resident Evil: Mercenaries might be worth considering. First week sales of 60k in Japan, and releasing in the Americas (not sure about Europe) at the end of the month.

Or maybe none of those games will reach it quickly enough, and it wont be until one of the big holiday games come out, like Mario Kart, and Super Mario.

I wanted to make this thread before OoT 3D came out to require more speculation/guesses.

My guess is that it will be OoT 3D, and it will take 12 weeks after release before it cross the million mark. I would guess that Nintendogs will be around the 700k mark at that point. I think Mario Kart 3D will release in October, and it will be close between Mario Kart and Nintendogs for which is the second game to cross a million.

Yep, Oot will probably hit a million in 3 or 4 weeks, I predict 100k japan, 150k europe, 200k americas so something like 450k FW...

OoT will be the first by a long way. Judging by Americas preorders and Japan preview, a 500k first week is possible.

I think SSF4 will get a price cut soon, so that maybe.

I know what you guys are putting on Zelda seems logical, but im just not sure right now.

It will be OoT 3D easily. The 2nd one will be harder to guess, I think it will be Nintendogs + Cats myself

zelda then probably mario kart. nintendo dogs will sell really well as long as hardware continues to sell so idk how long it will take lol.

Oh crap I didn't notice OoT was on the list... was thinking 3DS games already out so I voted Nintendogs... oh well

I must say, going by VGChartz' numbers the attach rate for the system outside Japan is quite disappointing so far. I imagine that will greatly improve after this year's holiday season though.

edit: actually, how many units has the 3DS sold so far? I know it's a million in Japan but I can't find numbers for the other territories, so perhaps attach rate isn't that bad.
