Yes, I know that I was saying it would be a good idea to integrate in the system, not just be compatible. Sadly the kinect has those damn limitations though!

What limitations? We already explained why it would be a terrible idea to integrate the Kinect into the actual Xbox itself.  As for being compatible, they wouldn't have to do anything to make Kinects work with all future Xbox's, and as I mentioned in my very first comment in this thread (not in reply to you, though), they could actually make improvements to Kinect's capabilities without having to do anything to the Kinect hardware itself.

Well that's great then if micorsoft can in fact improve on kinect, make it so that it doesn't need to stay 3-6 feet above ground. That way it would actually be smart to integrate it into their next xbox if they plan to release it so early.

No, it's still a stupid idea!! Kinect needs to be center to your TV, it's not possible for it to be playable 1ft off the ground ... that isn't a tech thing, that's the camera needing to see the whole room and you, whilst you move. The camera adjusts to the person in front of it.

Alrighty just expressing my ideas, don't have to shun me like I'm some sort of madman.

It's a pretty mad idea to be fair

My speculations:  I think this probably is true. And, I also believe it will be fully Kinect compatible. Since the Wii U is going to be .5 times more power than 360 and PS3, then I would expect this one to be 2 to 4 times as powerful as 360; however, since Kinect (and maybe an included joypad too) will be the default controller, then even though it will be significantly more powerful than Wii U, Microsoft will still be able to release it for basically the same price as Wii U ($400). They might release a controller similar to Wii U's a few years down the road if the Wii U controller really catches on or Kinect 2.0.

Since Wii U and the next Microsft console will be in direct competition this time out launching last as it will once again do could actually be in the PS4's favor this time out.  I wouldn't look for PS4 to release until Holiday season 2013.

They could still have Kinect support with their new console though (which I'm sure they will).I feel like MS would want to one up Nintendo now that they've put the cards on the table with their new console. Plus, I'm sure they wouldn't mind getting another head start on Sony, as it's single handedly the reason Xbox 360 is currently ahead of the PS3 in lifetime sales.

I think 2013 for the new Xbox, and late 2013/early 2014 for PS4.

No doubt about Kinect being compatbile, but I would think that they wouldn't just have Kinect they'd have Kinect 2.0 and have it ship WITH The console. Once again, price would go up on top of the expenses incurred from new tech in order to beat out the Wii U's (rumored) GPU. More than likely a loss would be incurred and I doubt Sony and MS would want to incur losses again after they only started making money off the 360 and PS3 relatively recently. Plus I doubt people would wanna pay $400-$450 with the current economic climate and if they wanted a system they'd just ignore Sony and MS' offerings for Nintendo's far cheaper solution. Like I said, most of this thread comes off as people being (bafflingly) impatient for the next gen despite the fact that the 360 and PS3 have yet to hit their ceiling. At the (very, very, VERY) earliest we'll see a 2014 release, but realistically I don't see new console until 2015-2016

I think that those of you that really think that the next xbox won't be out until 2014 or later even with this news just don't know what you're talking about. Microsoft and Sony were embarrassed by Wii this gen and this news coming so close after E3 all but ensures that they plan on killing Nintendo's new console right out of the gate. Iwata has already said Wii U won't be cheap unlike the Wii was, so Nintendo is planning on launching a $300 to $400 console next year, and much as xbox said a few years ago about Sony, "We're going to release our new console one day after Sony does theirs", I'm pretty sure we'll see the new Microsoft console Holiday 2012. It might even come out one day later than Wii U. Most likely it will be two or more times more powerful than the Wii U, it won't be packing Kinect 2.0, or anything fancier than a new joypad when it launches; however, it will be the same price (or even cheaper than Wii U) and come with just as many or more core games at launch than the Wii U.

Killing? It's an economic competition.
Nintendo with a one year lead could have a real good market share. Neither Microsoft nor Sony could like this idea.

Kinect will be important in the next gen, perhaps wp7 (or 8) and windows 8, clouding are other key elements

If 720 is announced MS needs more 1st party exclusives at appeal to the "core" gamers. For the casuals, I think the 360 has that covered so there will be no need to get a 720, maybe it's just me but I don't think Halo 4 covers that for the 720.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

bah obviously fake Crytek can't make DX11 games...

halo 4 is confirmed on 360.....

And?

well if you want to make it a launch title for a new plat.... you don't announce on your old one..... and they won't launch 4 month after showing it at E3.... they wouldn't have enough games to back it up..... I don't believe a lot of devs are working on it and you need at least a year and a half now a days to dev a descent title.... and we are talking about a new architecture.... if they release next year it feels like a sucide mission to me....

2013 not before....WiiU is not competing with XB or PS..... even with better graphics.... we'll have WiiU720 or WiiUPS next gen too I'm almost positive...

but even without thinking about tendo..... I don't see MS or Sony being ready and packing enough content for a 2012 release and I'm pretty sur MS doesn't want to rush their hardware testing :D
