Now I'm looking at screens of Wind Waker running on the Dolphin emulator. That's still probably the nicest-looking game ever made in many ways. If Nintendo can render Gamecube games in HD on the Wii U's Virtual Console, that would be swell.

They won't, though, and it pisses me off.

Anyway.

Now I feel like marathoning the living shit out of this series.

I wouldn't put it passed Nintendo.  N64 games on the Virtual Console are upscaled to 480i after all.

Not really, because it means an inferior Zelda must release first before the better one (which will arrive at the end of the Wii U life, just like N64 and GC).

You must be psyched with Skyward Sword.

1) what was the inferior Zelda game to hit the N64 before Ocarina?

2) How dare you slander Windwaker!!! :(

Edit: Apparently I tagged majora's, insead of Ocarina? Weird

1) Majora > Ocarina (something which I agree with Kyliedog)

2) I agree with you, Windwaker > All

I seriously find it hard to believe that they can do something better than that. It looks amazing!

But hey!, I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

The reason for this trend is that Nintendo, unlike certain other hardware manufacturers, tends to base tech demos off of their current versions of game-libraries/"game engines" (Japanese companies have traditionally not used conventional game engines).

I saw this picture on another site and thought it was a more complete demonstration:

Nice image, but where would Skyward Sword go? The first Wii U game?

Hell no! They should release it on Wii.

Another thing is launching it on both consoles as they did with Twilight Princess.

Then the Wii wouldn't have its own Zelda... making it Wii U's first :P
