Yeah I read that, the only reason I'm not sure is because Nintendo also said they're not sure either rofl

I wonder if it's because of the cost of the console's inner components (high bandwidth wireless streaming) or because of the cost of the controllers themselves - - - I thinks it's probably the former

Not exactly a smart decision considering the thing is battery powered.

I've never seen any evidence that OLED gets better battery life than LCD in real world usage.

Take a look at Anandtech's WiFi web browsing test scoreboard here for an example. I chose that test because the screen will always be on and it should remove the factor of CDMA/GSM/LTE power draw, though other power variables (battery size, CPU draw, screen size) are still in effect.
