Bah!!! I think the battery for my Vita is shot; charged it for most of the night(like 7-12) turned it on this morning and it's at red.....don't have the money to buy a new on atm so my Vita might just have become a home console...

does wifi consume energy even when on sleep mode?

YES. Because it an download games, and update life srceens and such other things.. Even When You press home or Power button You an see notifications on the lock screen
