I could care less how a game comes over as long as I get to play it. If you don't want the digital only game, why not wait until the game reaches 20$ or something in price and get it ?why boycott ?

Ok, some people like to collect the games, that's understandable, but do you want to actually play the game or collect it only ? I'm not judging both cases are fine by me. I just find the boycott concept weird as fuck(me I just wait till the game is cheap and get it).

and btw no offense but lol at your weak willed comment.

Edit: I think this discussion should be dropped, I've seen it discussed many times and on a lot of different forums and it will lead nowhere. Best to just move on.

You don't understand because you can't.

You're right, I don't understand it at all, because I've never seen a logical argument put forward to it.  It seems that the majority of publishers out there don't understand it either (and a large number of other people in this thread), so either we're all wrong, or...

The message I'm sending is quite clear actually. I let them know on every post of digimon by bandai, they bring these things up in the meetings when you got enough support. But if we have a bunch of weak minded thoughts like, (just be happy we got it), we'd never get physical releases at all for Vita. Vita will never no anything decent if they have no titles on store shelves. Vita shelf space is absent because they got nothing to put on it. Vita games plenty of games but physical releases aren't really existent apart from neptune and lego lmao. I'll never respect that, You think being quiet gets you what you want. I'm not going to ever be the people a company thinks of and says hey let's displease em, they'll buy it anyways.

Where have I said that that posting on message boards; twitter etc. shouldn't be encouraged?  It should.  I'm always posting links and twitter posts regarding Vita games and what not in this thread.  But boycotting the game because of some weird sense of entitlement to a physical copy some people seem to have is not the answer.  It's not even up for questioning.  The message you send is "we don't want this game at all".  Not "we wanted a physical copy".

(By the way, all that petitioning for a physical release of Freedom Wars in Europe was a think last year.  You know what the result of that was?  Game released physically and it underperformed.  So much for that, eh?)

And regarding the bolded, no.  Vita shelf space is absent because nothing that released physically has sold well enough to warrant it - Vita is competition with every other console 7th and 8th gen console out there, and nearly every one of them is selling more games.

PS4 will be getting the game ported to it and released physical, that's simply enough reason to have Vita physical as well.

I don't mean to sound rude with this, but that is literally the worst reasoning I have heard for physical Vita releases yet.  "PS4 is getting the game physically therefore Vita should".  Because everything else between PS4 and Vita is the same, yes?  No.  One has a healthy software ecosystem; one does not.  Which is what I said in the post that you deemed "irrelevant" for a reason which doesn't even make any logical sense.

Please take off the fan glasses for five minutes and look at the bigger picture.

To put it simply : The simplier fighting games core mechanics are, the better the game appeal to most of the players. That is why games like SF2X and Third strike are considered the best and SFA3 are hated among fan as far as mecanics only are concerned.

Blazblue is a fast game, with a lot of graphical effects with a lot of stuff to learn, too much stuff actually. Hence why it is so hard for most of the players to learn and play the game. I have no problem with it personally since I play fighting game for a long time now, but for new comers, I can understand that Blazblue is a no-no. There is absolutely no way to understand the mechanics instinctively like Street Fighter or King of fighter by just watching a game.

Guilty gear XRD have done a lot of work to remove the most tedious mechanics and simplify the game. Some may consider it a bad thing, but it is the best Guilty gear so far, only the hardcore players of it are not happy since they can't abuse the system anymore like before and roll on newcomers without being touched.

So, in resume... You don't like BB because is too hard for You? You probbly tried with Carl, Hakumen, Hazama or Rachel.. and trow out the towel.. -.-

No Blazblue is really simple, but since you understand jack shit by watching video of the game, I can understand why almost no one care about the game. It's hard to get hyped when the game try this hard to lost the player by a huge amount of effects, thousand of dull mechanics, air born dash, air guard... I am a Third Strike player, mind you, so Blazblue mechanics are nothing for me. But, impo, it's just one of the shittiest fighting game I ever played.

Combo are long and simple to do, all the game is about okizeme, too much stuff you can abuse (Nu-13 in Chrono fantasma extend, seriousely...), the game's speed is way too high to play footsie or spacing... The game is just about spamming long range moves or projectiles, prey for them to it and then combo the hell out it for 15 seconds when it happens.

The casting is cool and character looks very different from one others. Plus the story is far more intersting than kof or Sf. But that's all the game have for it. Mechanics and core gameplay wise, Blazblue games are not my stuff at all because I find them dull and stupid designed.

I hope you don't mind me snipping.  I agree with your points.  Alpha 3 at the arcades when it came out here was more or less people picking A-ism Akuma and abusing his hurricane kick and dragon punch combo.  I didn't see any vs with the game though so I can't comment on the arcade version just saw the Akuma abuse against a CPU.  I only really played the crap out of the PSX version cause that's all I had available (Didn't get a Dreamcast or Saturn until somewhat recently and even then I only ordered the titles from ebay a few days ago) so I didn't really see the V-ism stuff until recently when I went to go look it up and saw some tournament fights on youtube.  From what I saw, it wasn't really too OP.  Can be annoying, but it didn't look unmanageable.  Hell I saw an A-ism Zangief player destroy all the V-ism fighters.  Thing is; people really complain about the console ports of Alpha 3 because they neutered the V-ism stuff that you mention.  I personally agree that no fighting game should have infinites.  It's why Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the second worst fighting game I've played.  So people complain about Alpha 3 for no reason and the logical thing to complain about; the V-ism brokeness, is what they trash the console ports for fixing.  I honestly don't get the fighting game community sometimes.  I guess the nostalgia goggles make people like Alpha 2 better for the community, I personally didn't see it cause Alpha 3 at its core is so much better.  Somewhat as an aside, I still think Alpha 3 to this day, has the best presentation of any Capcom fighter.  The countdown timer till the match starts, the visual aesthetics, the announcer, the fade ins and outs from battle (The ism logos inbetween matches), etc.  I hope Street Fighter 5 can have that level of aesthetics, but it doesn't look like it.

Yeah, fighting games players are the worst. I am one of them, I know the community as a whole pretty good and really, sometime they disgust me to play them. A lot of fighting game players defend their favorite game and spit on the others blindly. I am a third players but I know the problem with the game and I accept them. I wouldn't mind a little change or balance, but I know my fellow comrade of play would go in a rampage if that happens. They wan't the game to remain broken on every level...

We agree about the effort put in Alpha 3. The game is so polished, it is not even fair. The soundtrack make you want to fight, every characters feels alive ect... Plus the pixel are top-notch for a game that can run on psx.

(1)Umm... I think you missed the big picture. Fan glasses make you buy whatever, even when it displeases. What I'm doing is the exact opposite.
Next is.

(2)Logical argument? You're looking for a valid argument when you don't care as much as the next person? Logical I guess...
I really hope you can see the irony in that. I don't care for anyone to join my side. It's something I personally won't support because I care that much. I don't try to understand xbox players love for the machine. I know I'll never understand, so I don't bother.

Also trying to play the right and wrong game is a joke. You think because Call of Duty was the biggest franchise in consoles last gen that it was the best?
I can go on facebook right now and see 900 comments ad 10 people only have the right answer. Doesn't matter.

(3)Yes, best logic ever to me. They're taking the money to port the game, they might as well go all the way. Porting anothers systems title and not giving it the support is the issue that I have. Like I said, I don't hold things, I express on them. I've never said no one was wrong from the way they choose to support. But my ways for me, I feel much better not caring about a digital release of full games. I've rebought Child of light 3 times. All together 4 times, never thought it would get physical. But bought 3 versions, then after I did that all on the same psn, I went and bought the physical immediately upon Vita's release.

(4)Waiting until you leave sour tastes in peoples mouth. That's what happens, I don't ride these companies. I think they need to be hit with reality, not rainbows.

(5)You're telling me this? I'm literally friends with multiple ppl from different eb games, walmarts and Bestbuys. You know what they tell me. Apart from best buy because they actually have a big section for vita. They tell me that when you're only getting 1 new game every so often and only getting shipments of old titles in, you lose shelf priority. Don't know about where you are but PSP still has shelf space in ebgames where I live, Vita's shelf space is literally the same in my local eb games and helf the ps3 size in the second closest eb from me. Maybe situation is different by you but not here lol, vita actually does fine here.

Have fun, I'm done. My points are present, I don't care less. I buy what I want to buy, I don't force myself into giving money into ideals I don't support. It's as simple as that.

Didn't a developer complain on twitter that Vita fans go on campaigns for physical releases only for the game to have a physical release and sell terribly? If it's not profitable for them to have a physical release, why would they?

I'm just glad we're getting support from the developers that take a chance on the vita. I'm not gonna punish them for giving us only digital as an option.

I think it was a little known minor party on the system called SCE... ;p

He's referring to the TK community manager who pointed out that Toukiden Kiwami bombed at Vita phyiscal (while doing well in Vita digital and PS4 physical/digital).

I know, but I think Freedom Wars is the most prolific example of "physical or no buy" campaigning from Vita users. Only for the game to come out and utterly bomb.

It's quite something to wade into the middle of a discussion and then attempt to end it a few posts later with the "I'm done" card then withdrawing.  It's a forum, people discuss things... and people have different viewpoints.

But just to give my own final viewpoint - I think trying to discredit what I was saying as "when you don't care as much as the next person" is very, very poor form.  I care a lot about the Vita, that's why this thread is the vast majority of my posts every day; why I subscribe to GAF & reddit and it's the main money I spend on videogames these days.  I would like to see it have a future over the next few years.

And in its future, more and more Japanese games seem to be getting announced as we head towards 2016.  Games which look great and I want to see in the west.

But in the west, Vita is anemic at best, and if I were a publisher interested in making some serious money I wouldn't give it a second thought.  Yet many publishers are, for whatever reason, which is great news.  And some of them are choosing digital-only, which is not something I particularly enjoy, but something I can live with.  If you can't, then fair play to you.

I just pray that there are enough Vita owners still out there that did things like buy Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment digitally so that we could get Lost Song physically this year; or bought enough digital copies of things like Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z that Bamco could consider releasing Pirate Warriors 3 digitally in the west (and physically in Europe!) when Pirate Warriors 2 didn't come across for Vita in any form.  And so on and so forth.

Because I love getting Japanese Vita games in the west, regardless of format, as they're the main reason I still own the console & am spending so much on it these days.

I don't understand your viewpoint, but it is what it is and I don't want you to feel like I was attacking you because of it.  You're free to choose to buy or not buy games as you wish, and I never said otherwise.

First. All those "dull mechanics" are on Guilty Gear too, actually, are heirence from there... I play 3rd Strike too, but the games are just too different to compare.. Try Garou Mark of The Wolves, that's the kind of game you want, but neither BB nor GG is your, despite you prefer GG for a odd reason You haven't explained...

The game isn't fastaer than GG or any other Ark System game.. not all characters spam things from long range either... and the long combos, that was true before but ended on BBCS.. from BBCP onward the game have a feature that doesn't let repeat moves on a combo so are shorter.. Litchy is a example...

If You want hype look at this...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrvY6BbiUE0

If there's a complain about B that I have (which is valid for GG) is that ArkSystem releases on the west take too much time, so we are allways months behind the asian's competitve scene.. that's why BB haven't make it officially to the EVO or any other major Tournaments since that on the Video above...
