It's out in Japan, but we have a "Summer" release date. I'm thinking August.

If you're in Europe like me, it's this or nothing. I suppose you could make an NA account and buy that version when it comes out, but that means either reformatting your Vita to play a US account which is a load of hassle just for one game, or buying another Vita.
It looks like there's absolutely tonnes of base game so I'm happy enough with this for now.

In my opinion, if you are a Vita fan, and a JRPG/RPG fan, then your Vita needs to be tied to an US account. Simply because of the number of games, as well as the price difference for the digital downloads. And it can still play any retail game you buy in Europe.
That's what I've done from the start, and also on PS4. The money I save on digital downloads is huge, I basically get every 4th game for free.

did the same for my vita and i dont regret it ...
but i guess its not an option if you have an eu account with tons of content already.
but then i would just buy another memory card and still start to migrate to a na account. for me it would be worth it. dunno about others.

If I had done it from the start, I would be more on board with this. But I have a year and a half worth of Vita content and 7+ years worth of PS1/PSP content on my EU account now, and couldn't really make the switch.

There's always a crazy idea to buy a 2nd Vita. You might be able to find a used one in fine condition for about €100.

yeah hard decision ... but the vita is the only sony system where you can only have 1 account bind.
for the ps3/4 it shouldn't matter if you have one. you can bind your eu and maybe your new us account to it.
different case for the vita sadly ;( but still manageable.

why buy a new vita if a memory card should be enough ?
didn't sony wanted to save the homescreens and settings on the cloud/memcard for psn+ members in the future ?
would lessen the impact of formating your system.
