For those who have has extensive (at least quite a bit of time) with the Vita. Have you noticed if all the games have Jagged edges? I noticed that a few of them do (I do realize these are launch titles, so they will eventually go away) but they aggravate the crap out of me. I read somewhere on the net that Vita does have a filter you can activate to reduce them. I'm not sure if that is positive or not though.

sadly I only spent a brief amount of time with the system and only played gravity....I did notice some jagged edges but such things don't bother me too much personally..but then again this might be a demo vs final build situation tho..and you are right the system has some filtering effects we can adjust

and also guys for those who are wondering about marketing for the system

"

We’ll show [the Sony Vita ads] on the blog right before they air on TV, and they’ll be timed for system launch.

While Sony has definitely left the ad campaign till the last minute, he did also tease:

You’ll be seeing them – they’ll be everywhere once they start ^_^

A strong launch advertising campaign could do wonders for the Vita, but Sony have promised big advertising campaigns before, only to fail to deliver. With some analysts, developers and publishers unsure whether the dedicated handheld market can support the Vita, one thing is for sure – it could really do with some advertising."

PlayStation Vita Legend of Heroes Detailed
More than just full voice for the Vita update!

http://andriasang.com/comzvx/vita_legend_of_heroes/

First details on the PlayStation Vita version of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki have surfaced through this week's Dengeki PlayStation.

While the game was originally announced under the placeholder name of "Full Voice Version," the final name is Legend of Heroes Zero no Kiseki Evolution.

There's more to the game than just full voice. The Vita version adds mini games, and ups the visual presentation. Visual changes include animated character shots during conversation scenes, and improved water, shadow and depth-of-field effects.

The added voice does seem to be a substantial component of Evolution. Over 150 characters have voices now. Lloyd alone takes up 1,200 pages of dialogue. An interview in the magazine reveals that recording may take up to two months.

Other new features include a brand new opening and new music arrangements.

As previously hinted, the game is being developed by Pyramid. Falcom previously announced a 2012 time frame for release, but Dengeki updates this to Summer.

Falcom is holding a press conference for the game on the 9th. We should get additional details then.

Metal Gear Solid HD Vita Has Rear Touch Pad Controls
Kojima shares a few screens of the Vita version.

I imagine Hideo Kojima has figured out that people freak out when he shares shots of Metal Gear Solid HD running on PlayStation Vita. So, here are two more shots of Metal Gear Solid HD running on PlayStation Vita.

As with yesterday's update, Kojima shared the pic as part of a notice about ongoing re-recording work that he and the Kojima Productions sound team are doing for the Vita version. Today's recording session was with Ginga Banjou, voice of Liquid Snake and Zero/David Oh.

Kojima describes the recording process as difficult because the Vita has many new controls. For example, Zero has to say "If you flick the rear touch pad, you can slice the enemy's throat." (This appears to be our first mention of rear touch controls for the game.)

In first person mode, you can pinch out left and right to stretch (I'm not sure what Kojima means by "stretch," but if you're familiar with MGS you may be able to figure out what he means).

Yesterday's recording session included Sigint voice actor Keiji Fujiwara and Snake voice actor Akio Otsuka. Kojima shared this pic of Otsuka, saying "Of course he's cool. It's because he's a real man. Snake is made 70% of Otsuka."

Otsuka later pleaded with Kojima to stop, saying that he was getting embarrassed.

Thanks for the updates. Quite nice games coming along the pipeline.

Hey guys, I really need some help here since I am so undecided and time is running short.

I have the WiFi version preordered as well as a 16GB memory card, so I am about $335 in so far, but I still need a game.

I am torn between these options.

PSVita WiFi + 16GB + Game = ~$375 ($365)
PSVita WiFi/3G + 8GB + Game = ~$365 ($355)
PS Vita WiFi + 8GB + 2 Games = ~$390 ($370)

All prices are assuming the games I buy are $40 each. Prices in parenthesis are if games purchase are $30.

I currently have the first option, but right now I am seriously leaning towards the 3rd one, but the 2nd one keeps bugging me because I hear the 3G version also has GPS and what if they release games that might use it? You think there is a reason to get the 3G for just the GPS?

I don't know what all the hate is with the 3g model, It's not like you have to pay for the 3g plan. I look at it this way, I can buy the 3g now, and maybe be disappointed that nothing happened with it, or something great might happen with it, and I'll be kicking myself in the ass standing in the check out like to buy a second vita. So I'm going 3g right out of the gate. No reason not to. It's not a big price difference. You can always pick up a second game next payday, or when ever. If you really want a second game, trade something in. I know i have a few games that may never see the inside of my system again.

The main reasoning is that people dont want to spend money on a feature they know for a fact they will never use.  The carrier exclusivity matched with the limited functionalilty is a difficult sale for most, especially those who are on a tight budget where that 50 bucks could go towards another game or larger memory card.  If I wasnt going to be able to get every vita game I want, then i definitely wouldnt have put down the 50 extra for the 3g bundle because Im not even sure if Ill be using the 3g all that much unless certain games have features that I feel is worth the monthly fee, which probably wont happen.  I really just wanted an extra memory card and the free game helped me seal the deal, and I know that if I settled for the wifi only version I wouldn't feel good about it because thats just how I am.  To each their own.

That's not true... People purchase SmartPhones for features that NEVER use... some people use them only for messaging trough social networks or as a normal Phone with pretty interface...

What are your top 5 reasons to buy a Playstation Vita?

1. THAT Screen.. by what i have read and what i senn (Samnsungs Oled on Smartphones) that screen is just something else...

2. I like PlayStation first party lineup.. is a matter of preference, i like more Sony's IP than Nintendos's, although I like Zelda and mario kart those aren't reason for me to purchase a nintendo's console..

3. The possibilty of Vita being a RPG console as PSP was and that from the GO have some great fighting games, Those two are my Fav genres so I MUST OWN A VITA!

3. Gravity Daze, the thing that I like more of Sony  is that they are ever coming up with new games, new adventures, new experiences, new characters, NEW games... not all are so faboulus but there's variety, for me that's most important...

4. PS3 have a great third party support, so we will see the same on PSVita...

5. neat features like: Remote Play, Crossplay and PS2 classic? (that last is a Wish of mine but a possibility)...If SONY add PS2 Classic compatibilty the console will be a tha PlayStation device EVER.

I wander if Sony will bring out a quick (this year?) Gran Turismo for the Vita? I guess not, but one for next year's holiday season would be right no?
Could use assets form GT5, and add new tracks and premium cars, that then they will be able to use later for GT6...
