I don't know where the problem should be.
Sony was focused on ps4.
they neither wasted too much time for vita nor for ps3(some may remember that's the system that sold almost 80 mio units and is far away from dying)
a big announcement for ps3/vita would have been ignored by most people as everyone is waiting for the ps4(design,games).Announcing something really new and great for ps3 and vita would be a waste of potential as you can't create a hype for a new vita game when people are focused on ps4.
As MS new surveillance system PK was not overwhelming but good in terms of quantity(too many unknown factors too judge the quality) Sony needed a good response.

what are you saying....they spent a quite a lot of time on the ps3! This is not an isolated incident. It's not like we are spoiled yearly at E3s. Last year they did jack shit for the system at E3...this year somehow, after even apologizing about it last year post-event, they managed to do worse. I don't care how much this was about the PS4. I really don't. They could have spent a few minutes on a few upcoming titles. If they were so concerned about PS4 hype over shadowing everything they can do a separate small event just for vita games and services. But no..they just don't give a shit.

I totally agree with your point.. The ball was in Sony's side yesterday evening, they couldn't just let it go and talk about vita stuff, though we would've loved some little love to be shown, and Where the hell is that #BIGTITLEREVEAL they were talking about for vita ?

Sony could have calmed vita gamers just by showing lots of crossplay/streaming stuff from the ps4.This cheap trick would have pleased most vita owners.
