Is this a real statement?
Nintendo in the past year or two:
Steel Diver (3DS)
Spirit Camera (3DS)
Art Academy (DS+3DS)
Style Savvy (DS)
Pandora's Tower (Wii)
The Last Story (Wii)
You could also argue for Xenoblade Chronicles but it has Xeno in it.
Microsoft in the same:
Nearly all of the Kinect games they made are new IPs. There's also got a lot of new IPs they've put on XBLA.
Yes, Sony does a lot of original content, but don't act like it's an exclusive thing.
Note: This was entirely just off my memory of the past two years.
I'm probably gonna buy Most Wanted. Criterion Games haven't disappointed me yet.

Not that I'm agreeing with the exclusive IP stuff that goes on around here, but you should do a little research before chunnering these off. Spirit Camera is a spin-off of Fatal Frame, so not a new IP.
I'm not really sure how much Nintendo had to do with Pandora's Tower & The Last Story either, other than acquiring them as exclusives.

Nintendo has as much to do with Pandora's Tower and The Last Story as Sony does with Ratchet.
he talk about first party
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I was just giving an example of where a company can get an studio that they do not own and it is still considered a first party title.

a 1st party title is simply a game that's IP is owned by one of the big three. I think Nintendo owns the IP to at least one of those games, not sure which.
Sony owns the Ratchet IP, even though it is made by a 3rd Party company. Insomniac can make games for whomever they choose....they just can't make a Ratchet for anyone other than Sony.
