wii U ships with that controller, psvita is a seperate purchase. sony can unlock it but it will never gain much traction with developers.

And by doing that will developers still make games for the wii controller?

the idea originally occurred to me when they had the wii U on the gun thing with the wii mote and nunchuck. thought of it as the move, nav and the NGP all connected to the sharpshooter.

edit: this setup would be perfect for that tom clancy game and as the Wii U got that game (perfect).

edit 2:
going off topic:
actually the more I think about this the more class it sounds if sony doesn't do something like this I will be greatly dissapointed and may even consider getting a Wii U.  << something I didn't think i would ever say lol. course I will need more info before then anyway but now I am thinking about it this, it seems pretty cool.

I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).

yupp...sounds plausible...hopefully Sony is doing that with the NGP & PS3...kind of good way to compete with the PS3 against the WiiU...

B...b...but I already have the PSThree... so one purchase for both (Wiiu or PSVita).

Just kidding .

Didn't they demo that with that "Ruin" game?

Its true PSV is a separate purchase but still it could work with multiplatform titles, for example Darksiders 2 developers won't have to cut the Wii U features from the PS3 version they just have to include them on the disc as optional. I think thats a good selling point for people that already have a PS3.

yeah, no, you have a point.  but honestly, i think 3rd parties are going to view the wii U as just another place to put their games.  i don't think you'll see much if any games that truely utilize the wii U to its fullest but instead go the direction of the psmove integration with bioshock infinate or kinect integration with mass effect 3 - a kind of cool extra that doesn't affect the core gameplay in a profound way so that the core gameplay can be put on to both (soon all 3) platforms.

as such, ps3 and vita integration ala wii U could happen i just don't see it being supported in a meaningful way.

but hey, i'm not trying to hate.  i actually really like the idea of the touch-screen-on-controller the wii U is doing.  i hope sony/ms shamelessly copy it.

If the Wii U is not much more powerful than PS3 (I think that's a nonsense story btw) then you could rightly clame that the PS3 and PSV contain all the functions of the Wii U.

Sony could blue-shell Nintendo :P

On this topic, I don't really plan to buy a PSV, but if a functionality like this is developed then I might be tempted.

I would cry for Nintendo if Sony was able to pull this off it is a ingenious idea and Sony could get there first, despite not coming up with it.

what do we call this kind of interface anyway. I think we need to define.
