Forums - Nintendo - What about 3DS 3rd party games?

Since now we're all distracted by Project Cafè announcment, I'd like to switch back a little the attention to 3DS and last year's E3. During the Keynote I think the most important message Iwata was trying to let pass about 3DS was: "We've got 3rd parties back".  But, is it true? In that occasion I've seen just a list of names of developers and frachises, but concretely I haven't seen that much yet. Yes, we've got Steet Fighter on launch and that's great, also DOA more recently, and what's next? I've made a quick check and counted these really relevant games: RE Revelations, P.Layton VS P.Wright, P.Layton Mask Of Miracle, Beyond The Labyrith, Kingdom Hearts 3D, MGS3 Remake (that has become MGS3 port), and Shin Megami Tensei Overclocked (another port). 7 games. (maybe I missed something)

That's good, but not a very remarkable improvement imo considering that 2 of those games are ports, also we already had  P.Layton, Kingdom Hearts and Shin Megami Tensei on the old DS. Not to mention none of these titles are made in the west. Nintendo itself has a lot of great stuff in development for the system, but honestly I would still be disappointed if nothing new will be shown from 3rd parties this year (expecially western ones). So I made this thread to talk about your wishes and expectations about 3rd party games on 3DS @ E3.

--->Mr Tar reminded me of Time Travellers and Tales Of The Abyss 3D.

Don't forget Tales of the Abyss 3D and Time Travellers.

As for my expectations/hopes, I think a new Castlevania is very likely. I'm just not sure whether it will be 2d or 3d, preferably 2d and 'Castletroid'. I also expect S-E to announce new 3DS projects at either E3 or TGS this year, given their track record on the DS, I would put money on some ports/remakes for the console. FFV or DQVII maybe?

I knew I forgot something, thanx for adding.

what about Asphalt 3D? But it can't really compete with Ridge Racer 3D...
There are some 3rd party games, but they aren't doing so well now...

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

3rd parties... Games I expect to see at this e3: Assassin creed, Final fantasy V & VI, castelvania 3ds, kingdom hearts 3d, call of duty, fifa, new rpgs, and a tons of nintendo games (Sorry, that's 1st party, but still)

But the game that I really want to see is Fantasy life

Also was interested in Fantasy Life (still in sig) when it was being developed for the DS, it's moved platform so I'll get it when I buy a 3DS

Well honestly I was very impressed with last years list. I'm sure alot of the TBA titles will be unvieled this morning. But with 3DS sales doing so poorly I'm guessing many third party titles are being delayed or canned. Third parties were counting on Nintendo releasing another hit console thats why the support was so large. But sales indicate Nintendo failed to deliver a large enough market.

However PSP sold really poorly yet developers supported that. So I expect to see more 3DS titles in the coming day. I think Nintendo's conference will be mostly about 3DS and Cafe with alittle Wii support. I can't wait only hours away!

The games, which convinced me, to get a 3DS are Samurai Warrior Chronicles and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Both are 3rd party games. Both are not on your list. I know I have a strange taste :) however I am pleased with the 3rd parties for now.
Regarding the future you might have a point. But I would wait for E3 to make my final conclusion.
