Forums - Website Topics - How do you compete with Game Database users for points?

sounds good!! that way it takes the same amount of time for their and my work 2 get judged.
unless you can see who submitted what and we gonna get the friends game.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Looks like it's impossible to win over Blacksaber.

There are 2nd 3rd ect prizes too!

I've slipped from 6th to 12th in the space of a few hours, this site is moving fast.

I'm now the only one who hasn't had any DB work added. I've sent some off but nothing as of yet :/

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

But I want an Xbox. My 360 died last week.

It really isnt that bad. I spent a bit of time yesterday adding screenshots/boxart/banners, etc.  (Hit 5th)

Took a few hours and I just did it while watching TV. The 15 at a time upload needs to be raises tho :)

As it should be, to be honest. The entire purpose of badges and gamrRewards is to not only encourage more activity across the site, but also to get regular users to help contribute to the site in the most useful ways (getting friends to sign up, building up the database, creating popular threads, etc.). If you're only able to win by having a healthy total in the 2 major areas (social and game database) then the system is working as intended.

Kantor and seece are spot on - it's perfectly possible to compete with the GameDB guys, they don't have any in-built advantages over the rest of us.

I was going to start a new thread about this but you mentioned it, how exactly do we get credit for getting a friend to sign up? Is there a "share this site" option somewhere or something? I'm fairly new to the site but totally love it and have a few friends I think would also enjoy it, but I want my points for it! Thanks!

I only added games to my profile and gave a rating of each game I added. I didn't see that as adding anything to the site and it only took a few hours. I update it regularily every time I buy a game like I do regestering games on Club Nintendo. Now sure I've never won but I am actually in competitive position to win.

I don't see how it is unreasonable or difficult it would be very easy for a user such as yourself to out rank me over night.
