The BBC and its subsidiaries should not be allowed to use license fee paid-for IP to support an external commercial entity like MS or its developers. I have written a complaint to them for that.

^^ are you one of those famed people that complain to OFCOM?

I don't agree it'll do much better tbh. I reckon it'll get to 4/4.5 mill this holiday with Kinect, before it starts getting bundled though.

What? 4 million before the year is over?! Without bundles? That would be crazy good.

Isn't it typically more like 1.5-2 million in that same time-frame for Forza and then it crawls to 4-4.5 million lifetime with bundles and bargain bin (Forza 3 dropped in price very quickly, as did Forza 2)?

I think you got your numbers wrong because that scenario is "much better tbh" than Forza 3.

Forza 2 was at a pathetic 1 mill before it started being bundled, Forza 3 got to 3.1 mill before being bundled.

I always wondered who they were

Also, remember BBC Worldwide (mostly America) makes money, and they sell DVDs and stuff, AND the Top Gear test track is in GT 5, so yeah, no problem from that perspective

In my opinion, in terms of Top Gear content, the only way that it would 1 up GT 5 is to have Stig challenges, or the like, where you try and beat the Stig's time, or have a go in the reasonably priced cars.

This should boost sales to some degree, but not that much, I think they will be more boosted by the flaws of GT and other features of Forza (though this still won't touch GT's sales)

Yes but it was in the bargain bin long before that.

I don't think it matters much ^^ If they can get to 4 mill standalone sales and 2 mill bundled, that's a great achievement for the franchise. Kinect will give it a boost this holiday.

OT

As I said in a "GT5 with Top gear...yay!! sales explosion!!"  thread some time ago.  This will hardly impact sales at all, its just a nice addition.

Very nice indeed, I heard Clarkson was narrating the Kinect showroom feature.

Edit - I meant nice for Top Gear/ Forza fans, I don't like either, and I hate Clarkson

This is what I want. A time trial in the various cars used by the stig(updated via LIVE when he does a new one) and the reasonably priced car scoreboard(again, updated via LIVE).

On the whole Sales thing... And bundle talk.

Forza 3 was bundled on release - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/250gb-forza-3-xbox-360-unveiled

It recieved a bundle around March/April 2010, with Halo: ODST - http://www.1up.com/news/forza-3halo-3-odst-bundle

It recieved another bundle in November 2010 too, with Alan Wake - http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/11/02/250gb-xbox-360-holiday-bundle-includes-forza-3-alan-wake/

I think these are the only official bundles for the game... But sales as of each bundle were -

Bundle 1 - 0

Bundle 2 - 2.33M (The Week this bundle was introduced, sales went from sub-24k to 40k/60k/45k... Then hovering around 30/40k, until the bundle was stopped and it dropped out of the charts again selling sub-20k. Added ~450k)

Bundle 3 - ~3.1M (This bundle was the Holiday bundle, and added almost 1.5M units onto Forza 3 total)

So, yeah. It was bundled on release, a few Months after release, and a Year after release. Despite these bundles, it was outsold by GT5 (According to VGC), after 5 Weeks of being on sale. About 2 Million of F3's 4.8M units came from Bundles. That's a huge number...

Expecting it to do GT-like numbers, when the series hasn't broke 5 Million yet despite massive bundling, advertising and lack of meaningful competition on release... Is IMO silly.
